The cheapest way into the Tower of London on GetYourGuide is the $51 Historic Royal Palaces ticket, and it is also the most-reviewed Tower of London ticket: 4.6 stars from 33,523 reviews. The official site, hrp.org.uk, sells tickets too, with an adult price from 37 pounds in Google results. For a first visit with a guide I’d book the $66 Beefeater meet and greet tour.

I compared all 10 Tower of London tickets and tours you can book on GetYourGuide right now. Three are listed as entry tickets, and the other seven are guided tours that include the Tower of London tickets. Prices are in US dollars, come from the listings and were checked in November 2026. Almost every difference between Tower of London tickets is about timing and company, not the building: whether you enter before the crowds, whether a Beefeater or a Blue Badge guide walks you round, and whether the price covers the Crown Jewels, the White Tower or something extra such as Tower Bridge.
Tower of London Admission Tickets
Tower of London admission tickets split into two kinds on my list: the plain ticket and the early-access products that bundle the same admission with a Yeoman Warder. The top-rated pick here is the City Wonders early access visit at $79. It lasts 45 minutes of guiding, scores 4.5 from 1,822 reviews, and the listing includes the Tower of London entry tickets, a Beefeater guard audience and free time afterwards to see the Crown Jewels at your own pace. It runs in English only and, like most Tower of London tickets here, can be cancelled free up to 24 hours ahead.

“Our Beefeater guide was amazing. We so enjoyed listening to his stories.” – GetYourGuide review
One catch is the meeting point. The listing says it is not the Tower entrance but the front of the ticket office opposite the main entrance, where a City Wonders representative holds a flag. A reviewer wrote that the Beefeater guide was amazing and that they enjoyed listening to his stories.
The other admission ticket worth a look is the after-hours tour with the Ceremony of the Keys at $177, which has the highest rating on my list, 4.9, though from only 55 reviews. It is the odd one out, because the listing states plainly that access to the Crown Jewels and interior buildings is not included. You are buying an evening on the grounds, not a daytime visit. It lasts 105 minutes, runs in English with a Beefeater guide and can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before.

“Our Yeoman Andy was fantastic bringing to life the times of the Tower. He was funny and entertaining and brought the history to life. The ceremony of the keys was very interesting and historical” – GetYourGuide review
Tickets for the Tower of London are cheapest at the gate-level end and dearest when a second landmark is added. The Tower of London entry ticket with the most ambition combines two landmarks. The Tower of London and Tower Bridge VIP early access tour from LetzGo City Tours Britain costs $199, the most expensive entry on my list, and it scores 4.8 from 948 reviews. The listing includes skip-the-line access to the Tower of London, the Royal Beefeaters Opening Ceremony, skip-the-line tickets to the Tower Bridge Experience and entry to the Victorian Engine Rooms. It lasts 3.5 hours, runs in English and meets at Tower Hill Underground Station, outside the main exit between the Citizen M hotel and Trinity Square Gardens.

“Our guide, Leon, was very friendly, and considerate of all grou participants, with endless patience, information and sense of humour....higly recommend” – GetYourGuide review
What the extra money buys is the second ticket and a guide who handles both. Tower Bridge sits about 5 minutes away on foot by my estimate, so the walk between the two is no obstacle for holders of these Tower of London tickets. A reviewer called the guide friendly and considerate of all participants, and said a party of eight that included a 92-year-old mother was looked after.
Skip-the-Line Tower of London Tickets
Tower of London tickets that save time are what most people mean by this search. Skip-the-line Tower of London tickets are not a separate product here. The listing that comes closest for the ticket office is the Tour Guy VIP Beefeater meet and greet at $66, whose description says timed entry takes you past the ticket queues. The inclusions are an expert English-speaking guide, timed entry, a guided visit to Traitors’ Gate and Tower Green, access to the Crown Jewels, and a 15-minute meet and greet with a Yeoman Warder at the King’s House with a photo.

“Highly recommend, very enjoyable and our guide was very acknowledgeable.” – GetYourGuide review
The Express option leaves out the meet and greet, so choose the option name carefully. I did not find the Tower’s security check described on the pages I could read, so do not assume any ticket removes every queue. The Historic Royal Palaces ticket below explicitly lists skip-the-line access as not included, which is the clearest reason to pay more for a guide-led version of the Tower of London tickets.
Tower of London Tour
A Tower of London tour is worth the money because the site is built around stories, and tickets for the Tower of London with a guide cost only a little more than the plain ticket. Two options sit under this heading. The first is the Easy Access Tower of London and Crown Jewels Tour from LetzGo City Tours Britain at $119: 3 hours, 4.7 from 1,712 reviews, led by a Blue Badge guide in six languages (German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese). It includes the White Tower, the Tower Armory, the Raven House, Tower Green and the Scaffold Site, and a Thames cruise if you choose that option. The second is a leftover rather than the best match for this section: the Tower of London Tour with Beefeater Meet and Greet at $132, which scores 4.5 from 685 reviews and lasts 3 to 4 hours. “A great tour of the London Tower. Our guide was informative and gave us lots of time to look at everything. The Beefeater experience was very worthwhile. Would recommend the early start before the crowds and heat.” – GetYourGuide review
No daytime Tower of London tickets cover the evening, so this one is booked separately. A Tower of London night tour exists in only one form on my list: the $177 after-hours tour with the Ceremony of the Keys, shown above in the admission section. Per the listing, you enter after the last daytime visitors leave and walk the grounds by lantern light past Traitors’ Gate, the White Tower and the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula. Then you stand near the Chief Yeoman Warder as he challenges the sentry and the bugler plays the Last Post.
Because the listing excludes the Crown Jewels and interior access, this is not a substitute for a daytime ticket. If you want both, buy a daytime ticket for the Crown Jewels and an evening for the ceremony. A reviewer said the nighttime visit is a completely different experience from daytime, and that the guide was able to depict what the experience would have been through the ages. The tour starts at the Tower of London Shop in Tower Place West, 50 Lower Thames St, and you should arrive 10 minutes early.
Tower of London Tickets 2 for 1
The question behind Tower of London tickets 2 for 1 is usually whether a voucher halves the price. I could not verify any current two-for-one scheme from the data I have, and none of the 10 products is sold as one, so I will not promise it. What I can show is what Tower of London tickets reach and how the two cards below differ.
The Historic Royal Palaces ticket at $51 is the plain option. It is run by the operator of the Tower itself, lists admission to the exhibitions including the Crown Jewels, the public Beefeater tours and children’s activity trails, and carries 4.6 stars from 33,523 reviews. The listing shows a 24-hour validity window, but lists skip-the-line access as not included.

The second card is a leftover, not the best match for this section. The Tour Guy pre-opening entry at $99 gets you inside with a Yeoman Warder before the public, watches the Beefeater opening ceremony, and gives first-of-the-day access to the Crown Jewels and Jewel House. It also includes an all-day entry ticket, a map and an audio guide app. The group is capped at 20 guests, and the listing says it excludes a guided tour inside the Tower. “Sophie was an excellent tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable about the history and a great story teller.” – GetYourGuide review
The Tower of London admission price has two sides, and Tower of London tickets bought online sit on one of them. Google results for the official site show an adult ticket from 37 pounds on one page and 38 pounds on another, with a child aged 5 to 15 at 19 pounds and members free. I could not open the official pages, so treat those as snippets and check the price on the day you book. On GetYourGuide the admission price for Tower of London tickets in US dollars runs from $51 to $199.
A leftover for this section is the Tour Guy guided tour with a Thames cruise at $88. The listing includes pre-reserved Tower of London tickets, access to the Crown Jewels and the White Tower, an expert guide and a flexible 30-minute Thames cruise. Its duration is listed as 1.5 to 7 hours, because the cruise ticket is flexible, and it scores 4.6 from 753 reviews. “It was wonderful Ariana was the perfect guide. Willing to answer all questions and made sure we received some interesting history.” – GetYourGuide review
Prices are the lowest per-person prices on GetYourGuide when I last checked; the final price depends on the date, time slot and age.
Tower of London Tickets Discount
Tower of London tickets discounts are limited, and none of the Tower of London tickets on my list is marked as discounted. The official snippets I saw show a child price of 19 pounds for ages 5 to 15 and free entry for members, and the opening ceremony listing shows a concession price. Whether you qualify depends on rules I could not read, so check the official site. On GetYourGuide the better value among Tower of London tickets is a low-priced early-access option.
The Tower of London Early Access and Beefeater Opening Ceremony tour from City Wonders at $88 is the one I’d look at, though the card is a leftover rather than a discount as such. It lasts about 1 hour, scores 4.6 from 201 reviews, and includes VIP early access, the Beefeater Opening Ceremony, a guide with headsets when needed and a self-guided audio app. One reviewer said being among the first to see the Crown Jewels meant they could get a good look or just shuffle past.

Near the Tower of London
The Tower sits on the north bank of the Thames, and Tower of London tickets reach only the fortress itself. The walking times below are my estimates, using straight-line distance multiplied by 1.3 at 4.8 km/h. Tower Bridge is the closest sight, about 5 minutes away, and the one product on my list that includes it is the LetzGo two-landmark tour. London Bridge is about 13 minutes on foot and The Shard about 14. The London Dungeon is about 49 minutes, Trafalgar Square 59, Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster about an hour and Buckingham Palace around 75, so for those you would take the Underground or a bus.
If you are planning a London day around your Tower of London tickets, I compare the Sky Garden tickets for the view over the City and the London Eye tickets for the South Bank. Windsor Castle is a separate day out and is not on this page.
Is the Tower of London Worth Visiting
Yes, and tickets for the Tower of London sell in the millions: Google Maps rates it 4.7 from 123,212 reviews, and Wikipedia records 2,817,852 visitors in 2025. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 1988 according to Wikipedia, and the White Tower was built by William the Conqueror in 1078.
The Crown Jewels drive much of that demand, and the plain tickets for the Tower of London cover them. Only seven people were executed within the Tower before the world wars, per Wikipedia, so the scaffold site on Tower Green is a small part of a much longer story. The UNESCO listing is the place to read why the whole complex is protected.
How I’d Choose
Cheapest Tower of London ticket: the $51 Historic Royal Palaces ticket, which includes the Crown Jewels and public Beefeater tours.
No queue and a guide: the $66 Tour Guy Beefeater meet and greet for 1.5 hours, or the $79 City Wonders early access for 45 minutes of guiding.
Families: the $119 LetzGo Easy Access tour at 3 hours, with the children’s trails on the plain ticket as the cheaper fallback.
Special areas: the $132 LetzGo tour for the White Tower and Armory, or the $199 tour for Tower Bridge on the same booking.
Evenings: the $177 Tour Guy after-hours tour with the Ceremony of the Keys, bought on top of a daytime ticket.
Other languages: the LetzGo Easy Access tour, offered in six languages.
Frequently asked questions
Should I buy Tower of London tickets in advance?+
I would. The official site's own booking FAQ, as it appears in Google results, says you can book online or buy on the day at the ticket office, but recommends pre-booking. Every product I compared on GetYourGuide is a reserved ticket or tour, and most can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before, so booking ahead costs little flexibility.
Is it cheaper to buy Tower of London tickets online?+
The official Historic Royal Palaces listing in Google results shows an adult price from 37 pounds when booked online. On GetYourGuide the Historic Royal Palaces ticket is $51, and guided options run from $66 to $199. I could not read the official page itself, so I cannot confirm whether the ticket office charges a different price; check the official site before you pay.
How much does it cost to visit Tower of London?+
Google results for the official site show adult tickets at 37 to 38 pounds and a child aged 5 to 15 at 19 pounds, with members free. On GetYourGuide, entry starts at $51 for the Historic Royal Palaces ticket, and tours that include entry cost $66 to $199 depending on the guide, the early access and any extras.
Do you have to pay extra to see Crown Jewels at Tower of London?+
No, not on the products I compared. The $51 Historic Royal Palaces ticket lists admission to the exhibitions, including the Crown Jewels, in its inclusions. The one exception is the $177 after-hours tour, which lists Crown Jewels access as not included.
Is 2 hours enough time for Tower of London?+
It is enough for the main sights if you move with purpose. The early-access tours I compared run about 1 hour of guiding and then leave you free time, while the full guided tours run 1.5 to 4 hours. I would allow 3 hours if you want the White Tower, the Crown Jewels and the walls.
Does anyone currently live in the Tower of London?+
Yes, according to the after-hours tour listing, which says a Yeoman Warder is one of the few people in the world who actually lives within the Tower's walls. The Yeoman Warders, also called Beefeaters, lead that tour and the Ceremony of the Keys it includes.
How much time is needed to visit the Tower of London?+
From the listings, 1 hour is enough for an early-access ceremony visit and 1.5 hours for a short guided tour, but a full visit with free time runs 3 to 4 hours. The 24-hour validity shown on the plain ticket means you can take as long as the opening hours allow.
