Arc De Triomphe Tickets – Arc de Triomphe Rooftop Tickets

The cheapest Arc de Triomphe ticket on GetYourGuide is the $18 rooftop ticket, and it is also the most reviewed, at 4.6 stars from 38,548 reviews. The official site, paris-arc-de-triomphe.fr, charges 16 euros from October to March. Arc de Triomphe tickets that bundle a Seine cruise run $43 to $44, and private guides $223 to $272. For a first visit I’d book the rooftop among the Arc de Triomphe tickets and add a guide only if history is the point.

I compared all 10 Arc de Triomphe tickets and tours you can book on GetYourGuide today. Only four include the monument’s rooftop or entry as the main product. The rest are walking tours, a trike tour, a photo shoot and a cruise that happen to pass the arch or bundle it. Prices are in US dollars from the listings, checked in November 2026, and the buttons are affiliate links (more on my about page).

Arc de Triomphe Tickets at a Glance

Here is every type of Arc de Triomphe ticket in one table, so you can see where the money goes before reading the detail.

Price range $18 (rooftop entry) to $272 (private guide with rooftop ticket)

Every real difference between Arc de Triomphe tickets comes down to who walks you up the stairs. The rooftop view is identical on all of them, so you are choosing between plain Arc de Triomphe tickets, a guide and a bundle.

Arc de Triomphe Admission Tickets

Arc de Triomphe admission tickets are a simple product: the entry-only rooftop ticket at $18 is the one that matches the search, and I cover it under the rooftop heading below. The card that the data ranks first for this heading is a different thing. It is the Can-Am Ryker 600 three-wheeler tour from RideQuad 140 at $89, rated 4.8 from 108 reviews. It lasts about an hour, includes the rental, helmet and gloves, fuel, a safety briefing and photo stops, and it passes the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower on the way. It does not include admission to the monument, so don’t book it for the view from the roof. The meeting point is the Indigo Frémicourt private car park at 15 Rue Frémicourt in the 15th arrondissement, and the guide speaks Arabic, English and French.

“It’s very exciting trip and the crew they’re wonderful and helpful I will try it again with the same team” – GetYourGuide review

I would book this one as a fun way to see Paris, and buy Arc de Triomphe tickets for the rooftop separately.

Skip-the-Line Arc de Triomphe Tickets

Skip-the-line Arc de Triomphe tickets need a careful reading. One listing says plainly that there are no skip-the-line queues at any entrance, that you only skip the ticket line, and that nobody can skip the security line, so you should expect longer waits in high season, at weekends and on public holidays. That is the only statement about queues in my data, and the official site says the monument applies Vigipirate security measures. Skipping the ticket line is the realistic benefit of buying Arc de Triomphe tickets ahead.

The card in this section is not a queue-skipper at all. It is a 15-minute private photo shoot with a professional photographer in front of the arch, at $31, rated 4.5 from 41 reviews. It includes high-resolution edited digital pictures, and it explicitly leaves out the entrance ticket to the monument. You meet the photographer near 154 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the team speaks English and French, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.

Arc de Triomphe Entry Tickets

Arc de Triomphe entry tickets also come inside a group walking tour, but only as an option. The Paris Essentials tour from Paris Top Sights Tours costs $40, lasts 2.5 hours and is rated 4.7 from only 10 reviews. An English-speaking local guide walks you through more than 10 sights, among them Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur, Place du Tertre, the Moulin Rouge and the Champs-Élysées. The meeting point is the Paris City Vision kiosk opposite Anvers metro station. The base price includes the exterior visit of the arch. Entry to the arch is only included if you choose that option, and Sacré-Cœur entry is not included. If the Moulin Rouge stop appeals, my page on Moulin Rouge tickets covers the show itself.

“I had an amazing experience with Rami, and I highly recommend this activity to anyone who wants to have a joyful day.” – GetYourGuide review

Arc de Triomphe Price

The Arc de Triomphe tickets price on GetYourGuide starts at $18, and the official site gives the same story in euros. A plain entry ticket costs 16 euros from 1 October to 31 March, and 22 euros from 1 April to 30 September, falling to 16 euros on Wednesdays in that period. A partnership rate of 20 euros in summer and 14.5 euros otherwise applies to SNCF frequent travellers and Thalys. The $18 rooftop listing is close to the official winter ticket, so the extras are what the other Arc de Triomphe tickets pay for.

The listing in this section is a leftover and not the best match: the rooftop and sunset Seine cruise ticket from Cosmic Attraction at $44. It includes the entry ticket, rooftop access, a flexible cruise from the Eiffel Tower, and audio guides for both. It has the lowest rating in my set, 3.5 from 8 reviews, and the reviews I read mention a missing ticket and a missed rooftop slot. At that price and with that record, I would take the $43 combo with 795 reviews instead.

Arc de Triomphe Tickets Official Site

The official site for Arc de Triomphe tickets is paris-arc-de-triomphe.fr, and it sells the 16 or 22 euro individual ticket through a “Book your ticket” link. It also lists free entry for visitors under 18, for 18 to 25 year olds who are EU nationals or legal residents in France, for jobseekers with proof and for people with disabilities plus one companion. If you qualify for free entry, don’t pay a reseller for Arc de Triomphe tickets. What GetYourGuide adds to Arc de Triomphe tickets is a guide, a combo, or free cancellation, not a better price.

The card here is the Champs-Élysées tour with macarons from Allejo at $101, rated 4.6 from 7 reviews. It includes the entry ticket to the arch, a free guidebook, a guide and French snacks including macarons. It does not include a guided tour on top of the monument. Meet 30 minutes before at Place Clemenceau, beside the statue of General de Gaulle. It’s in English only, with free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead.

Arc de Triomphe Tickets to Top

Arc de Triomphe tickets to the top are the whole point for most visitors, and the $18 rooftop ticket is the one I would buy. It is rated 4.6 from 38,548 reviews, it gives access to the rooftop terrace and the views over Paris, and it leaves out a guided tour. You meet at the entrance and pass a security check, and the underground stairs on the Champs-Élysées and Rue de la Grande-Armée lead you across to the central roundabout. The listing is valid for one day and is non-refundable, so check your date before you buy these Arc de Triomphe tickets.

“Incredible experience. We went in the evening and the views were spectacular! The stairs were not too bad to climb. Would definitely recommend this activity.” – GetYourGuide review
Incredible experience. We went in the evening and the views were spectacular! The stairs were not too bad to climb. Would definitely recommend this activity.
— GetYourGuide reviewer

The climb is the cost. The official site says the route has 284 steps, with a first flight of 180 and rest landings with seating, because the lift is being modernised. A reviewer on this listing also mentions walking the steps for that reason.

Is the Arc de Triomphe Worth It?

The Arc de Triomphe is worth it if you want one of the best views in Paris and don’t mind climbing, in my view. The rooftop ticket scores 4.6 from 38,548 reviews, and Wikipedia describes the arch as one of the most famous monuments in Paris, standing at the centre of a star of twelve avenues. It was visited by 1,754,750 people in 2022 per Wikidata. If you’d rather not climb or queue, the arch is still worth a look from the roundabout, where the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is free to visit per the official site.

The card is the exclusive private guided tour from Greenfield Company at $223, rated 5.0 from 3 reviews. It lasts 1.5 hours, includes a professional private guide and what the listing calls elevator access to the rooftop that skips 238 steps, leaving 46. The official site says the lift is out of service for modernisation, so ask the operator whether that is still available on your date. The guide can lead in English, French, German or Russian, and you meet in front of the Montblanc shop at 152 Avenue des Champs-Élysées. A reviewer said the guide brought the history and the alignment of the city to life. Three reviews is thin evidence, so treat the 5.0 with caution.

Arc de Triomphe Tickets and Museum Pass

I could not confirm that any pass opens the Arc de Triomphe. The official practical page I read does not mention the Paris Museum Pass, so check the official site before you buy a pass for it. What I can confirm is one bundle of Arc de Triomphe tickets: the Arc de Triomphe entry with a Seine cruise from Global Tours and Tickets, $43, rated 4.5 from 795 reviews. It includes the entrance ticket, a one-hour cruise with Bateaux Parisiens from the foot of the Eiffel Tower, and a cruise audio guide. You show your voucher at the monument’s ticket office. Cruise tickets are valid for one month and have no fixed time, and you can cancel up to 24 hours ahead. One reviewer said the cruise runs every half hour and wished the ticket had said so.

Is an Arc de Triomphe Tour Worth It?

An Arc de Triomphe tour is worth it when you want the avenue and its history more than the climb. The Champs-Élysées walking tour from SMART CITY TOUR is $22, lasts 2 hours and is rated 4.6 from 10 reviews. A guide covers Place de la Concorde, the Petit Palais and Grand Palais, the Champs-Élysées gardens and the arch, with live commentary on history and architecture. It is in English, and the terrace ticket is not included. This was a leftover from my allocation rather than a guided tour with entry, so add one of the $18 Arc de Triomphe tickets yourself. It meets at the Luxor Obelisk in the centre of Place de la Concorde.

“We enjoyed every part of the tour. Hugo was very knowledgeable and friendly and we both learned a lot about French history, architecture, and the art. Would highly recommend this tour.” – GetYourGuide review

Reviewers praise the guide’s knowledge and the stories about the avenue. If you want a guide who also takes you up, look at the private tours in this comparison instead.

Is the Arc de Triomphe Better at Night?

Whether the Arc de Triomphe is better at night depends on the season. The official site lists hours up to 11 pm from 1 April to 30 September and to 10:30 pm from 1 October to 31 March, with last admission 45 minutes before closing. Open-Meteo’s 2025 record puts the November sunset in Paris at 5:10 pm and the June sunset at 9:56 pm, so a winter evening visit is a night visit, while in June you wait until after 9:30 pm for the dark. A reviewer of the rooftop ticket went in the evening and called the views spectacular. No card in my set is a night tour of the arch, so for a night visit I’d buy the $18 ticket and choose an evening slot among the Arc de Triomphe tickets for sale.

Is the Arc de Triomphe Worth Seeing?

The Arc de Triomphe is worth seeing even if you never go up it, because it commemorates those who fought for France in the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars and carries the names of victories and generals on its walls, per Wikipedia. It stands 49.5 m tall, was designed by Jean-François Chalgrin and opened in 1836, per Wikidata. The card is the Arc de Triomphe private guided tour with rooftop ticket from TOUR FRANCE EXPERIENCE at $272, rated 5.0 from 3 reviews. It runs 2 hours, includes the rooftop ticket and a licensed guide, and is offered in nine languages. The guide meets you in front of the Qatar Embassy on Rue de Tilsitt. At $272 it is the most expensive listing here, and a reviewer called the climb challenging but the view spectacular.

Opening Hours and Getting There

The Arc de Triomphe is open 10 am to 10:30 pm from 1 October to 31 March, with Tuesday opening at 11 am, and last admission 45 minutes before closing, per the official practical information page. The Charles de Gaulle-Etoile station is a minute’s walk from the arch. My Arc de Triomphe opening hours and visitor guide has the closing days, bag rules and the routes in.

Near the Arc de Triomphe

These are the sights I’d pair with the arch, with straight-line distances from Google Maps coordinates and a walking time estimated at 1.3 times the distance at 4.8 km/h. The Eiffel Tower is the obvious pair and has its own page: see my comparison of Eiffel Tower tickets. It is about 1.7 km away, around 28 minutes on foot.

How I’d Choose

Frequently asked questions

What is the entrance fee for the Arc de Triomphe?

The official site, paris-arc-de-triomphe.fr, charges 16 euros for an individual ticket from 1 October to 31 March. From 1 April to 30 September it is 22 euros, or 16 euros on Wednesdays. The cheapest GetYourGuide listing I compared is the rooftop ticket at $18, rated 4.6 from 38,548 reviews.

Can you climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe?

Yes. The official practical information page describes a route of 284 steps, including an initial flight of 180, with rest landings that have seating, and it says the lift is being modernised. It also says the climb is not recommended for visitors who may find stairs difficult.

How long does it take to go to the top of the Arc de Triomphe?

The official site does not say how long a visit takes. The tours I compared give a guide: the private guided tours run 1.5 to 2 hours including the rooftop, and the walking tours take 2 to 2.5 hours. For the rooftop alone I would allow about an hour including the security check, which is my own estimate.

How do I get from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe by metro?

The two are about 1.7 km apart in a straight line, roughly 28 minutes on foot by my estimate, and the Charles de Gaulle-Etoile station sits right at the Arc. I did not confirm the exact line combination, so use the RATP journey planner at ratp.fr for today's route.

What is the best pass for visiting Paris's attractions?

I could not confirm that the Arc de Triomphe is covered by a pass: the official practical page I read does not mention the Paris Museum Pass. The only bundle I compared is the Arc de Triomphe entry with a one-hour Seine cruise at $43, rated 4.5 from 795 reviews.

Who is buried at the Arc de Triomphe?

Nobody is buried inside it in the usual sense. Per Wikipedia, beneath the vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I, marked by an eternal flame commemorating unidentified fallen soldiers of the French nation. The official site says the Tomb is free to access.

Is the Arc de Triomphe free to enter?

For some visitors, yes. The official site lists free entry for under 18s, for 18 to 25 year olds who are EU nationals or legal residents in France, and on the first Sunday of January, February, March, November and December. The next one is Sunday 6 December 2026.
