The cheapest of the Houses of Parliament tickets I compared is the $41 Vox City Walks audio tour with reserved entry, and it is also the most reviewed at 4.5 stars from 333 reviews. The official Parliament site sells its own tickets too, though the page I could read showed no price. For most visitors I’d book the Vox audio tour, and only pay for the $79 Amigo Tours option if you want Westminster Abbey in the same booking.

London Houses of Parliament Ticket & Political Audio Tour
I compared both Houses of Parliament tickets that GetYourGuide sells right now, and neither is a plain ticket. One is an audio tour with a reserved entry slot, and the other is a guided Westminster Abbey tour with Parliament entry as an option. Prices are in US dollars and come from the listings, checked in November 2026. The links that open GetYourGuide are affiliate links (more on that on my about page). Tours of the building mainly run on Saturdays and in recess, which I explain in my Houses of Parliament opening hours and visitor guide.

Houses of Parliament Tickets and Prices
Prices for Houses of Parliament tickets on GetYourGuide start at $79 for the one listing in this section, the Amigo Tours Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey guided tour, rated 4.1 from 292 reviews. It is a from-price, because the listing has four options: a shared tour with Abbey and Parliament entry, a shared Abbey tour with only an exterior view of Parliament, a Parliament-only shared tour, and a private tour. Only the options that include Parliament give you a ticket for the Houses of Parliament, and the Parliament part is an audio-guided visit of the House of Commons and House of Lords. The duration runs from 75 minutes to 4 hours depending on the option, and the languages are English and Spanish. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours ahead.

“Jane was so kind and knowledgeable. The perfect tour guide for the perfect day. Thanks for an incredible experience!” – GetYourGuide review
Reviewers rate the guide at the Abbey more than the Parliament part, and several name their guide.
“It is absolutely worth it to go inside the Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. On top of that, Richard was an excellent guide, friendly and knowledgeable, who gave us clear and meaningful explanations of the main spots. Highly recommended.”
— GetYourGuide reviewer
The listing does not include entry to any other monument, hotel pick-up or tips. The guide meets you outside the Abbey shop at Dean’s Yard, and the listing asks you to arrive 15 minutes early. If you are travelling as a group, the calculator below adds up the cost of either ticket for the Houses of Parliament.

Skip-the-Line Houses of Parliament Tickets
Skip-the-line Houses of Parliament tickets are not sold under that name by either listing I compared, so I have no card for this heading. What both products do is reserve an entry slot, and the Vox City Walks listing describes a “reserved entry ticket” rather than a fast-track queue. At Parliament the queue that matters is security, which every visitor passes. The official Parliament site describes airport-style security checks and asks visitors to allow plenty of time, so a booked slot helps you get in on a day of tours but does not remove the screening.
My advice is to treat any skip-the-line promise on Houses of Parliament tickets with care and read what the listing actually includes. Both of my cards say what is booked: a timed entry for the audio tour, and an entry option for the Amigo tour. If your worry is a long queue, book a slot rather than turning up, and arrive 20 minutes early as the official audio tour page recommends.
Houses of Parliament Tour
The Houses of Parliament tour I would pick is the Vox City Walks Ticket and Political London Audio Tour at $41, rated 4.5 from 333 reviews. It is a ticket with a self-guided audio tour, not a live guided tour, and the listing lists “guided tour” as not included. You get a reserved entry ticket, an audio guide for the building in nine languages, a host at the meeting point and a second “Political London” audio guide app with 15 points of interest, including 10 Downing Street. The visit lasts 2 hours. You meet your host at the statue of George V on Abingdon Street, opposite the Cromwell Green entrance, with a downloaded ticket and photo ID, and the host wears a dark blue VoxCity uniform. Cancellation is free up to 2 days ahead.

“This was an excellent insight to the workings of parliament. Very well organized and no waiting around. Bought this ad a present fir my husbands 75th birthday and he loved it.” – GetYourGuide review
The reviews praise the access to the chambers, and the quote below is typical.
“Fantastic. Really enjoyed getting close up to both the lords and commons.”
— GetYourGuide reviewer
The complaints are specific. One reviewer said no guide met them and the start time changed from 4 pm to 3 pm at the last minute, and another wished for a human guide. A third said the rooms were smaller than they had expected, and one noted that photography is not allowed in some of the main areas. So check your confirmation email for the time on the day, and don’t expect a live guide. I compare every guided tour on my Houses of Parliament tours page.
Houses of Parliament Tickets London
Houses of Parliament tickets in London come from three places: the official site, GetYourGuide and walk-up access to debates. The official audio tour is sold at tickets.parliament.uk, where the page says to allow 90 minutes and lists audio in English, British Sign Language, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean and Welsh, plus an English version for children up to age 11. The same page says a child goes free with each full-paying adult and that tours may be cancelled or routes changed at short notice. It does not include the Elizabeth Tower, which has its own booking and its own page on my site, Big Ben tickets.
I would compare the official audio tour with the Vox City Walks listing before buying Houses of Parliament tickets, because both are an audio tour of the same rooms. The reseller listing adds a host on site, an app about political London and a cancellation window. I could not read the official price, so I won’t claim which is cheaper.
Houses of Parliament Price
The price of Houses of Parliament tickets splits into three. A debate in the public gallery is free per the official site. The official audio tour has a ticket price on tickets.parliament.uk that I could not read, so open that page for today’s figure. On GetYourGuide the audio tour is $41 and the Abbey and Parliament tour starts at $79.
The $38 gap between these two Houses of Parliament tickets buys a guide inside Westminster Abbey, a longer day and, on the Amigo options, a private group if you want one. I have no card for this heading, because both products already appear above.
Houses of Parliament Visiting
Visiting the Houses of Parliament means choosing between a tour, a debate or a committee. The official watch debates and committees page covers the free options, and the tours of Parliament page covers the paid one. Debate visitors enter through the Cromwell Green entrance on the west side of the building, facing Parliament Square, and every visitor passes airport-style security. Bags and phones are handed in before the public galleries.
Plan the day around the House that is sitting before you buy Houses of Parliament tickets. Tours are on Saturdays and during recess, and debates are on sitting days, so a Tuesday in term time suits the public gallery and a Saturday suits a tour. Neither listing I compared is a substitute for checking the Parliament calendar first.
Can You Visit the Houses of Parliament?
You can visit the Houses of Parliament, and you do not need a ticket for every kind of visit. The official debates page says that watching debates is free for UK residents and overseas visitors alike, that most days you can turn up and wait for entry to either chamber, and that there is usually a queue. Prime Minister’s Questions needs a ticket. The public galleries are open Monday to Thursday and some Fridays, and business can change at short notice.
Houses of Parliament tickets are for the tour, not for the gallery. If your dates are fixed and Parliament is sitting, tickets for the Houses of Parliament are optional and the free gallery may fit better than a tour, and if you visit on a Saturday only a tour will get you inside. I have no card for this heading.
Is the Houses of Parliament Worth Visiting?
Is the Houses of Parliament worth visiting depends on what you want from the building. It is a working palace, and Wikipedia gives its Grade I listing as 1970 and its UNESCO World Heritage Site status as 1987, shared with Westminster Abbey and St Margaret’s Church. The UNESCO World Heritage List records the site.
My view, based on the reviews of both Houses of Parliament tickets, is that it is worth it if you like politics or British history, and less so if you want ornate rooms to photograph, because photography is restricted. The Vox City Walks audio tour is the cheapest way to find out, and its 4.5 rating is solid for a 333-review sample.
House of Commons and House of Lords: What You See
The tour listings describe the two chambers in plain terms. In the House of Lords you see the golden throne where the king opens each session of Parliament with a speech, and in the House of Commons you see where proposed laws are debated. Westminster Hall, the oldest building of the palace, is where the three highest courts used to sit. Wikipedia adds that the palace is the meeting place of the Parliament of the United Kingdom and is “colloquially known as the Houses of Parliament after the House of Commons and the House of Lords”.
I won’t rank the two Houses by power, because my sources do not do that and the answer depends on who you ask. What I can say from the listings is that both chambers are on the Vox route and on the Amigo options that include Parliament.
Opening Hours and Getting There
Match your Houses of Parliament tickets to the days tours run: Saturdays throughout the year, and Monday to Saturday in recess, per the official page. Google Maps lists no opening hours. Westminster is the nearest Underground station, about 3 minutes on foot by my estimate, and St James’s Park is about 10. The Transport for London site covers live service. My Houses of Parliament opening hours and visitor guide has the day-by-day table, the entrance and the security rules.

Abbey and Parliament together
Neither of these Houses of Parliament tickets is a guided tour inside Parliament. For a general view of what a guided tour of the building would be, the Amigo listing is the closest, since its guide leads the Abbey part.
Near the Houses of Parliament
The Houses of Parliament sit at the heart of Westminster, and the places below are all within about 20 minutes on foot, using my estimate of straight-line distance multiplied by 1.3 at 4.8 km/h. Big Ben is about 2 minutes away, and the tower has its own page on my site, Big Ben tickets. Parliament Square Garden is about 3 minutes, and Westminster Abbey is just across the square. The London Eye and the London Dungeon are each about 9 minutes over Westminster Bridge. Trafalgar Square is about 16 minutes and Buckingham Palace about 20.
Cheapest of the Houses of Parliament tickets: the Vox City Walks audio tour at $41, or a free debate if Parliament is sitting.
Most reviewed: the same Vox City Walks listing, 4.5 stars from 333 reviews.
With a guide: the Amigo Tours listing from $79, which has a live guide at Westminster Abbey but an audio guide in Parliament.
Both Abbey and Parliament: the Amigo Tours option that includes Parliament entry.
On a weekday in term time: skip the tour and join the queue for the public gallery, which is free.
For Big Ben itself: the tower is a separate booking, see Big Ben tickets.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to go to the Houses of Parliament?+
Watching a debate from the public gallery is free for UK residents and overseas visitors, per the official Parliament site. Touring the building costs money: on GetYourGuide the Vox City Walks audio tour with reserved entry is $41 and the Amigo Tours Abbey and Parliament tour starts at $79. The official ticket page I could read did not show a price, so check it before you book.
Is the House of Parliament worth visiting?+
I think so if you want to stand where laws are made. The Vox City Walks listing is rated 4.5 from 333 reviews, and reviewers praise getting close to both the Lords and the Commons. One reviewer found the rooms smaller than expected, so go for the history and the access, not for grandeur on an Abbey scale.
How long does it take to tour the Houses of Parliament?+
The official audio tour page says to allow 90 minutes, and the Vox City Walks listing gives 2 hours including the meeting point at the statue of George V. The Amigo Tours listing runs from 75 minutes to 4 hours depending on whether you add Westminster Abbey. Arrive at least 20 minutes before your slot for security.
Are Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament the same?+
No. The Houses of Parliament is the Palace of Westminster, where the House of Commons and House of Lords meet, per Wikipedia. Westminster Abbey is a separate church across Parliament Square with its own tickets. The Amigo Tours listing is the one product I compared that combines both in a single booking.
Can you walk around the Houses of Parliament?+
You can walk around the outside and Parliament Square for free. Going inside needs a tour ticket or a visit to a debate, and every visitor passes airport-style security first. The official site says bags and phones must be handed in before the public galleries, so travel light.
Which Houses of Parliament tour is best?+
For most visitors I'd book the Vox City Walks audio tour at $41: it is the cheapest, it has 4.5 stars from 333 reviews and it enters the Lords and Commons chambers. Choose the Amigo Tours listing at $79 if you also want a guide at Westminster Abbey, and note that its Parliament part is audio-guided too.
Can you tour the Houses of Parliament on a weekday?+
Only during Parliamentary recess. The official audio tour page says tours run on Saturdays throughout the year, and Monday to Saturday during recess. On sitting weekdays the public galleries are open for debates instead, usually Monday to Thursday and some Fridays.
