The Tower Bridge opening hours are 9:30 am to 6 pm every day for the exhibition, with last entry at 5 pm, per the official site and Google Maps. The road across is a public street and is not part of the paid visit. Below you will find the opening hours, the bridge lift schedule, the closing days and the route from Tower Hill. When you know when you are going, my comparison of every Tower Bridge ticket has the prices.
Tower Bridge Opening Hours
Today, Saturday 7 November 2026, the Tower Bridge opening hours per Google Maps are 9:30 am to 6 pm, and the official site lists the same hours for every day. The week looks like this:

| Monday |
9:30 am to 6 pm |
| Tuesday |
9:30 am to 6 pm |
| Wednesday |
9:30 am to 6 pm |

The official plan your visit page is the one to trust. It gives open daily 9:30 to 18:00 with last entry at 17:00, and the two sources agree, so there is no seasonal difference to resolve. It also lists a relaxed opening session on the second Saturday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30, with last entry at 11:10. The next one is Saturday 14 November, a quieter option for visitors who prefer lower noise.
Tower Bridge Opening Times Today
The Tower Bridge opening times today are the same as any other day, since the exhibition does not publish different weekday and weekend hours. The Tower Bridge opening hours have only two exceptions on the official site: the Christmas closures and the relaxed session. The entrance moves with your ticket: GetYourGuide’s entry listing says the way in is on the western side of the North Tower, where you join the outside queue. The official ticket page also notes the queue is outdoors on the bridge, and that bridge lifts can delay entry, with staff accommodating late visitors if capacity allows. Check the Tower Bridge opening hours on the official page for the exact date you plan to visit, since I read them on 7 November 2026 and hours can change.
Tower Bridge Entrance
The Tower Bridge entrance for visitors with tickets is at the North Tower, on the western side, per the GetYourGuide listing for the entry ticket. Google Maps places a separate engine rooms point on the south side, at the Bridge Masters Residence on Tower Bridge Road, about 2 minutes on foot from the bridge by my estimate. The official page says the walk to the engine rooms follows the Blue Line outdoors, so the entrance you queue at and the engine rooms are not the same building. E-tickets are checked on arrival, so allow extra time for validation and security.

Tower Bridge Opening Schedule
There is no separate Tower Bridge opening hours table for lifts. Tower Bridge opening schedule searches often mean the bridge lifts, when the road deck splits and ships pass through. The official bridge lifts page lists upcoming lifts with the time, the vessel and whether it travels upriver or downriver, and you can filter by vessel or jump to a date. When I read it, the next lift was Sunday 8 November 2026 at 7:45 am. The page says extra lifts can be scheduled at short notice, so check it close to your visit. The bridge lifts around 500 times a year per the official page, while Wikipedia gives about 1,000, so I wouldn’t rely on either figure for planning.
Tower Bridge Times
The Tower Bridge opening hours tell you when to arrive, but not how long to stay. Tower Bridge times in a visit break down into three parts: the queue outside, the climb and walkways, and the engine rooms. The official site does not state how long the visit takes, so the following is my estimate: about 2 hours, with the engine rooms taking the least. GetYourGuide reviewers describe a couple of hours at the bridge and engine rooms. A late bridge lift can hold up your entry within the Tower Bridge opening hours, which is another reason to arrive before 5 pm.
Tower Bridge Opening Times for Ships
The Tower Bridge opening hours for the exhibition and the lift times for ships are two separate timetables. Tower Bridge opening times for ships follow the schedule on the official lifts page rather than a fixed daily timetable, because each lift is set by the vessel that needs to pass. The listing shows the time, the vessel and the direction, which is enough to plan a viewing. I did not find a statement on whether watching a lift is free, but the bridge can be seen from the pavements either side without an exhibition ticket. Your exhibition ticket does not tell you when lifts happen, so the two schedules are separate.
Tower Hill Hours
Tower Hill is the area, the Tube station and the road beside the Tower of London, and the hours depend on what you mean. The station is on the District and Circle lines and is the nearest to the bridge, per the official site. I did not find station hours in my data, so check TfL for service times. For the Tower of London next door, whose hours are not the Tower Bridge opening hours, Google Maps lists 10 am to 4:30 pm on Mondays and 9 am to 4:30 pm on Tuesdays, so its hours differ from Tower Bridge. The Tower Bridge opening hours stay 9:30 am to 6 pm.
Best Time to Visit Tower Bridge
Open-Meteo data for 2025 shows sunset at 4:10 pm in November and 4:20 pm in January, against 9:19 pm in June. With last entry at 5 pm, winter visitors can lose the daylight views from the high walkways, so a morning slot is better in winter. A June day gets 12.8 hours of sunshine on average, and December only 3.5. The official site does not say which days are quietest, so I can’t name a quiet day with a source. The relaxed session on the second Saturday morning is the one calmer window I can confirm. Outside the exhibition, the walkways have glass floors that are best on a clear day. Tower Bridge opening hours do not change with the season, but the light does, so match the Tower Bridge opening hours to the sunset times above.
How to Get to Tower Bridge
Tower Hill station on the District and Circle lines is the nearest, about 7 minutes on foot and roughly 500 m to the ticket office, per the official site. London Bridge station is the other close stop, about 1 km to the engine rooms entrance by the official figure, and by my estimate about 11 minutes straight-line distance. Fenchurch Street and Tower Gateway DLR are also close, per the official page. The Tower of London is about 5 minutes away on foot and the Sky Garden is a short walk into the City, so a day with all three works. The London Eye is about 50 minutes on foot, my estimate, so take the Tube or a boat. For the British Museum, allow over an hour on foot.
Things to Do Near Tower Bridge
The Tower of London is 0.30 kilometres away on Google Maps, rated 4.7 from 123,213 reviews, and the Tower Bridge Engine Rooms 0.15 kilometres. The Shard is 0.78 kilometres away and London Wall 0.50. A $323 private tour pairs the bridge with the Tower of London, and a $19 Thames cruise runs from Westminster to the bridge. See the Tower Bridge map for the layout.
Tower Bridge Audio Guide
The $24 entry ticket excludes guided tours, and no audio guide is listed with it. The audio option I found is the $45 London sightseeing audio tour with a Tower Bridge ticket from WeGoTrip, rated 5 from 1 review, so there is little evidence on it. A reviewer says the audio guide shared facts about the bridge’s history, construction and engineering. The $19 cruise listing has audio commentary in six languages, and plan the climb around the Tower Bridge opening hours of 9:30 am to 6 pm.
Tower Bridge Free Entry
The road across is a public street and pedestrians can cross whenever the bridge is down, so seeing the bridge costs nothing. The exhibition with the towers, high walkways, glass floor and engine rooms is the paid part, at $24 from the cheapest listing I compared, rated 4.7 from 18,913 reviews. I found no free entry to the exhibition. Check the Tower Bridge opening hours and prices on the official site.
What to Know Before You Go
Security and bags matter as much as the Tower Bridge opening hours when you plan the visit. All bags, prams, pushchairs and wheelchairs are searched at the door, per the official site. Shoulder bags and backpacks up to 45 by 35 by 20 cm are allowed, but suitcases, wheeled bags and oversized items are not. Glass bottles are not allowed near the glass floors. There is no cafe or restaurant on site and no water dispensers, and Potters Field Park is suggested for picnics. Lifts serve the walkways and the engine rooms, and accessible toilets are inside. The visit still involves stairs and an outdoor walk to the engine rooms, so wear comfortable shoes. For access questions, the official site gives bookings@towerbridge.org.uk and 020 7407 9191, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
Official prices are 18 pounds for adults, 13.50 pounds for concessions and 9 pounds for children aged 5 to 15, per the entry page, and pre-booking is recommended up to 8 weeks ahead. Pre-booked tickets do not give fast-track entry. For the full list of options, read the Tower Bridge tickets guide, or return to the TicketGuide24 homepage to browse other attractions.
