A Casa Batlló tour is a choice about who talks to you inside Gaudí’s house: a recorded voice on an app, a guide with a radio headset, or a private guide who stops at the door. I compared the four Casa Batlló tours in my data, from $32 to $248, and each includes entry to the building. Below I set out the route, group, languages, meeting point and what reviewers say. If you only want to get in, my page on tickets for Casa Batlló lists all eight options.

What a Casa Batlló Tour Adds Over a Plain Ticket

The official General Visit costs from 29 euros and includes an audio guide in 15 languages, per the official ticket page. So even the cheapest entry already explains the house. What a live Casa Batlló tour adds is a person: someone to point out the dragon on the roof, answer questions about the Batlló family, and keep the pace for a group. On the two Julia Travel tours it also adds a fast-track entrance.

What no tour changes is the building’s own system. The official FAQ says the box office sells only the General Visit and that every other experience is bought online, per the official FAQ. A tour is booked against a time, and the time is the operator’s, not yours.

Self-Guided Casa Batlló Tour With an Audio Guide

The one tour in this group that is not led by a person is the $32 Casa Batlló entry with a self-audioguide, sold by the house itself. It is the most reviewed Casa Batlló tour by a distance, at 4.6 stars from 33,334 reviews. The listing describes augmented reality, the six-sided LED room called the Gaudí Cube, a marble staircase by Kengo Kuma and a soundtrack by the composer Dani Howard. The script comes in 15 languages. A fast pass applies only if you select it, and the bedroom of the Batlló family head is for the gold option only. The listing is non-refundable and you show the ticket at the entrance on Passeig de Gràcia 43.

“The best way to learn about Gaudi’s architecture is to experience this.” – GetYourGuide review

Reviewers praise the audio guide itself, with one saying it “brought it to life”. One advises taking your own earphones, and another says upgrading to gold for the rooftop and the private residence would have been worth it. The one who bought the silver level says it gave a balance between the house and the roof terrace, and liked the 10:30 slot.

Live-Guided Casa Batlló Tour With Skip-the-Line Entry

The Julia Travel tour at $62 is the only Casa Batlló tour with a live guide for the house alone. It lasts 75 minutes, runs in English and Spanish, and includes the fast-track ticket, a radio guide system and access to the Gaudí Cube. The route starts outside to see the façade, then goes through the main floor and its views over Passeig de Gràcia, the dining room and the courtyard, and up to the roof terrace with its chimneys. The guide waits with a Julià Travel sign or umbrella at Passeig de Gràcia 41, in front of Casa Amatller. An option adds admission to the White Rabbit Museum. “Miguel provided a wonderful experience as we toured Casa Battlo. Casa Battlo is a must see while in Barcelona.” – GetYourGuide review

The rating is the weak point: 3.7 from 178 reviews. The review texts I have are warm about the guides, with praise for their knowledge, a good pace and a smaller group that “felt more personalized”, so the gap is not explained in what I can read. I would treat the average as a reason to check recent reviews on the listing before paying $30 more than the audio-guide entry.

Casa Batlló Tour With Casa Milà and Casa Vicens

The third Casa Batlló tour is the long one: $87 for 2.5 hours, with three Gaudí houses in one booking. Which houses you see depends on the option. The listing offers a guided visit inside Casa Batlló and the Gaudí Cube, a guided tour of Casa Milà, and an audio-guided visit of Casa Vicens with a glass of cava, and the walk between Casa Batlló and Casa Milà is on foot. There are three meeting points, and yours follows the option you select. Languages are English and Spanish and cancellation is free up to 24 hours ahead.

“Great insights and knowledge from our tour guide, really enjoyed her way of touring and her depth of knowledge of Gaudi, the archetorial insights and the fun facts! I had a lot of fun!” – GetYourGuide review

This is the Casa Batlló tour with the most complaints in the reviews, and they are about logistics, not guides. One reviewer says the guide vanished after Casa Batlló and the Casa Milà and Casa Vicens tickets did not work until phone calls were made. Another waited 20 to 25 minutes beyond the meeting time and found the headsets at Casa Milà a fiasco. A third says it rushes, leaves no time for photos and that Casa Vicens has no guide, and suggests buying only Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. A fourth found the two-house tour tiring: “a bit long”. Others loved the guides, so the pattern is good guides and shaky handling.

Private Casa Batlló Tour With an Architecture Walk

The most expensive Casa Batlló tour is the $248 private architecture walk from Rosotravel. It is a private tour with skip-the-line tickets to the house and an audio guide, and the listing says the guide does not go inside with you. You get the walk first: Modernist buildings such as Casa Comalat, Casa de les Punxes and Casa Milà, plus the stories of Gaudí and architects such as Puig i Cadafalch. Then you visit Casa Batlló on your own with the audio guide.

Casa Batllo Fast-Track Tickets, Barcelona Architecture Tour

My pick: The private option: $248, 2 to 4.5 hours in five languages, but the guide stays outside and there are no reviews yet.

  • ✓ Private walking tour of Barcelona’s architecture with tickets to Casa Batllo and optional transfers
  • ✓ 5-Star Licensed Guide who is fluent in your chosen language
  • ✓ Skip-the-line tickets to Casa Batllo with audio guide
  • ✓ Interesting facts about Catalan Modernism, Antoni Gaudi, and more
  • ✓ Round-trip transfer with accommodation pickup and drop-off (4.5-hour option only)

Not included / not suitable

  • ✕ Round-trip transfer with accommodation pickup and drop-off (in 2-hour option)
  • ✕ Guided tour of Casa Batllo (audio guide only)

Meeting point: Meet your guide in front of Hotel Casa Fuster, Pg. de Gràcia, 132, 08008 Barcelona, Spain. Please do not enter the hotel, it is only a meeting point and the staff is not informed about the tour.

Languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish

Duration: 2 - 4.5 hours

Cancellation: Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund

Two options exist. The 2-hour option does not include a hotel transfer, and the 4.5-hour option does, with round-trip pickup and drop-off. The group meets in front of Hotel Casa Fuster at Passeig de Gràcia 132, and the listing asks you not to go into the hotel. Languages are English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours ahead. The rating is not shown, so I cannot say anything about reviews.

Guided Casa Batlló Tour or Ticket Only?

The price gap is the whole story. Entry with the audio guide is $32, and the live-guided Casa Batlló tour is $62, so a person costs $30 more. The 3-house tour costs $55 more than the audio entry, and the private walk $216 more. On the official side, the General Visit is from 29 euros with the audio guide, and a student card takes 6 euros off at checkout, per the official FAQ.

My view: if you like to read and listen at your own pace, the self-guided ticket is enough, because the house is designed around its audio and visuals. A guide is worth the extra if you are travelling with children who need talking to, or want the Batlló family’s life explained rather than the house’s technology. The official visit page says the house is open every day, and my Casa Batlló opening hours guide shows when the slots run. Allow time for the roof: the official FAQ gives about 1 hour for the General Visit Blue and 1 hour 15 minutes for the other visits.

How I’d Choose a Casa Batlló Tour

Whichever you book, arrive at the meeting point early. When you are ready to choose, my full comparison of Casa Batlló tickets shows the early entry, night visits and the other options side by side, and the home page lists the other attractions I compare.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Casa Batlló tour worth it?

It depends on what you want from the house. The $32 self-guided entry is the most reviewed, at 4.6 from 33,334 reviews, and its audio guide covers the house in 15 languages. A live-guided Casa Batlló tour costs $62 to $87, so you pay about $30 more for a person, which suits you only if you want to ask questions.

How long is a Casa Batlló tour?

The live-guided tour with skip-the-line entry lasts 75 minutes, and the tour that adds Casa Milà and Casa Vicens takes 2.5 hours. The private architecture walk runs 2 to 4.5 hours depending on the option. The official FAQ puts the plain General Visit at about 1 hour.

Does a guide go inside Casa Batlló with you?

On the 75-minute Julia Travel tour and the 3-house tour, yes: the listing describes the guide walking you through the main floor, courtyard and roof terrace. On the $248 private architecture tour, no. The listing says the private guide does not accompany you inside, and you use an audio guide in the house.

Which Casa Batlló tour includes the roof terrace?

The two Julia Travel tours describe the roof terrace with the chimneys and the dragon in their route. For the self-guided entry, a reviewer says the gold level was worth it to include the rooftop and the private residence. Check the level you select, because the listing ties the bedroom to the gold option.

Can I book a Casa Batlló tour on the day?

I would not rely on it. The official FAQ says the box office sells only the General Visit, at 4 to 15 euros more than online, and every other experience must be bought online. Every tour here has a fixed start time and a meeting point, so book before you travel.

Are Casa Batlló tours cancellable?

Three of the four are. The live-guided tour, the 3-house tour and the private walk offer a full refund up to 24 hours ahead, while the $32 audio-guide entry is non-refundable. That matters if your plans are loose.
