The tourist map of Barcelona below pins every sight I have a ticket page for, and the best Barcelona tourist map habit is to book by cluster: the Gaudí houses together, the old city together and Montjuïc together. Under this Barcelona tourist map I group the sights by area, estimate the walk between neighbours and finish with a one-day and a two-day route. Tickets for all of them are compared on my Barcelona attraction tickets page.
The walking times on this tourist map of Barcelona are my estimates. I took the Google Maps coordinates of each sight, measured the straight line, multiplied it by 1.3 for the real street layout and divided by a pace of 4.8 km/h. Hills, crossings, queues and security checks are not in the figures, so use them for planning, not as a promise.
The sights fall into four areas: the Eixample with the Gaudí houses and Sagrada Familia, the old city and waterfront, Montjuïc, and the places outside the core. Park Güell sits on its own north of the Eixample. Tibidabo and Montserrat belong on the Barcelona tourist map as day trips, not as stops on a walk.
The Eixample: Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà
The Eixample is the grid of wide streets where three of the big sights stand, and it is the first area of the Barcelona tourist map I would learn. Casa Batlló and Casa Milà are only about 8 minutes apart on foot by my estimate, so they pair well on one morning, and Sagrada Familia is about 25 minutes from Casa Batlló and about 23 minutes from Casa Milà. That is a real walk, so many people take the metro for that leg.
Park Güell is about 2.2 km from Sagrada Familia in a straight line, which I estimate at around 35 minutes on foot, and about 37 minutes from Casa Milà. Its entry works by time band, per the official site, so my Park Güell tickets page is the one to read before you pick a day. It is better matched with the hill neighbourhood than with the Eixample sights.

The Old City and Waterfront: Cathedral, Picasso, Palau, Ciutadella and Aquarium
The densest part of the Barcelona tourist map is the old city. The cathedral and the Picasso Museum are about 7 minutes apart, the Palau de la Música is about 7 minutes from the cathedral, and the Picasso Museum is about 9 minutes from Parc de la Ciutadella. All four fit inside one morning without a metro ride.
The Barcelona Aquarium tickets page covers the last piece. The aquarium is the furthest from the others: about 17 minutes from the cathedral, about 16 minutes from the Picasso Museum and about 21 minutes from the park. Plaça de Catalunya, the usual starting point for the centre, is about 11 minutes from Casa Batlló, so this cluster and the Gaudí houses link up easily.
Montjuïc: Magic Fountain, Joan Miró Foundation and the Castle
Montjuïc is a hill, and distances on it are short on the map but uphill on the ground. The Magic Fountain is about 12 minutes from the Joan Miró Foundation, the foundation is about 12 minutes from the castle, and the Telefèric de Montjuïc pin is only about 5 minutes from the foundation. From the fountain to the castle is about 23 minutes. The fountain also has a Poble Espanyol pin about 8 minutes away.
The hill itself is free, and its attractions have their own prices. The Montjuïc tickets page compares ten options, and the official Telefèric de Montjuïc site lists a round trip at 17.10 euros for an adult. The Magic Fountain tickets page explains why you do not need a ticket for the show itself, which the City of Barcelona lists in its show times. The Joan Miró Foundation tickets page has the $20 skip-the-line entry.

“Katy was great guide, we learned a lot about city history and Gaudi. I very like tours like this. Really worth to go.” – GetYourGuide review
Two sights on this map are outside the city. Tibidabo is about 5.8 km in a straight line from Plaça de Catalunya and sits on a hill, and Montserrat is about 36 km away. I would never put either on a walking route drawn from this tourist map of Barcelona.
The Tibidabo tickets page covers the park, which sells a one-day entrance at 39 euros with the funicular included, per the official rates page. The park opens only on selected days, so check the calendar. For Montserrat, public transport takes about 1 hour 30 minutes from Barcelona, per Turistren, and the group trips I compared last 6 to 9 hours. The Montserrat Monastery tickets page compares nine of them.

“One of the can’t miss experiences of Spain. The small group tour was the best way to experience it with a knowledgeable and engaging guide.” – GetYourGuide review
I pair sights so that only one needs a timed slot, and these are the pairs that work best on a tourist map of Barcelona. Casa Batlló with Casa Milà is the best Barcelona tourist map pair, because they are 8 minutes apart and each has its own audio-guide entry. The cathedral with the Picasso Museum gives two indoor visits about 7 minutes apart. The Palau fits in front of either, because it opens early, though I’d check its slot on the official site.
On Montjuïc, the Joan Miró Foundation and the cable car pair well, since they are only about 5 minutes apart. Sagrada Familia pairs less well with anything on foot, so I’d give it its own morning slot and ride to the next stop. If you add Park Güell to it, remember it is about 35 minutes away by my estimate.
A One-Day Route
With a single day, I’d stay in the centre and pick the sights I most want. Start at Sagrada Familia when your slot opens, and allow 1.5 to 2 hours inside. Then take the metro or walk about 23 minutes to Casa Milà, walk about 8 minutes to Casa Batlló, and walk about 11 minutes down to Plaça de Catalunya for lunch.
In the afternoon, continue from Plaça de Catalunya to the Palau, about 7 minutes away, then about 7 minutes more to the cathedral and about 7 minutes to the Picasso Museum. You will not enter all of them, and I’d choose two indoor visits and walk past the rest. This Barcelona tourist map route covers four areas of the city without a second metro ride after lunch.
A Two-Day Route
For two days, I’d keep the first day as above and trim it to Sagrada Familia and one Gaudí house. The second day starts at Park Güell in the morning, using the time band from your ticket, and then goes to Montjuïc after lunch. From the Magic Fountain, walk about 12 minutes to the Joan Miró Foundation, about 5 minutes to the cable car pin, and ride up for the castle views. If the fountain is running on your night, it closes the day, and the City of Barcelona lists the winter shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
Leave the old-city cluster and the aquarium for a third morning, or swap them with Park Güell. For the prices behind each pin, my Barcelona attraction tickets comparison puts every sight in one table. If you want the free stops on the same tourist map of Barcelona, my free attractions in Barcelona page lists them with sources, and the Barcelona city pass comparison shows whether a pass fits your route.
Frequently asked questions
What are the main attractions on a Barcelona tourist map?+
The ones I map are Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà, the cathedral, the Picasso Museum, the Palau de la Música, Parc de la Ciutadella, the aquarium, the three Montjuïc sights, Tibidabo and Montserrat. The first eleven are inside the city, and Tibidabo and Montserrat are day outings. Each pin on the map links to its ticket page.
Can I walk between the Barcelona attractions?+
In clusters, yes. Casa Batlló and Casa Milà are about 8 minutes apart by my estimate, and the cathedral, the Picasso Museum and the Palau are each about 7 to 9 minutes from the next. Going from Sagrada Familia to the old city is about 31 minutes from Plaça de Catalunya, and Montjuïc, Tibidabo and Montserrat need transport.
How far apart are Sagrada Familia and Park Güell?+
About 2.2 km in a straight line from the Google Maps pins, which I estimate at around 35 minutes on foot, using the straight line times 1.3 at 4.8 km per hour. The route climbs towards the park, so I'd allow more time than the estimate says. Most visitors treat them as two separate half-days.
How far is Montserrat from Barcelona?+
About 36 km from Plaça de Catalunya in a straight line, which makes it a day trip. Public transport takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, per Turistren, and the group trips I compared last 6 to 9 hours. The monastery is never part of a walking route in the city.
Which Barcelona attractions are close to each other?+
Casa Batlló and Casa Milà are about 8 minutes apart, and the cathedral and the Picasso Museum are about 7 minutes apart. On Montjuïc, the Joan Miró Foundation is about 12 minutes from the Magic Fountain and about 5 minutes from the cable car pin. These are my estimates, not measured routes.
Is Tibidabo within walking distance of the centre?+
No. The Tibidabo summit is about 5.8 km in a straight line from Plaça de Catalunya, which is far more than an easy walk and climbs a hill. The official rates page names the funicular and the TibiBus shuttles as the usual ways up. I'd plan Tibidabo as its own outing.
