A Casa Milà tour is a small step up from a plain ticket, and the question is whether a live guide is worth the difference. I compared the four guided Casa Milà tours I could find on GetYourGuide, from $37 to $178. Three include admission, and one is a private tour where the ticket is bought separately. If you only want to walk in with an audio guide, my page on tickets for Casa Milà has every entry option, and this page is about the people who lead you round.
The house is also called La Pedrera, and its own site, lapedrera.com, sells tickets directly. A plain ticket gets you the courtyards, the attic with the Gaudí exhibition and the rooftop at your own pace. On the audio-guide product the listing says plainly that a live guide is not included.
A Casa Milà tour adds a person who tells the story in order: the façade first, then the courtyards, the attic and the roof. The listings also name things that are easy to walk past, such as the doorknobs Gaudí designed and the butterfly worked into one courtyard. A guide cannot make the house less busy at noon, but the early-access tours below solve that by starting before the regular crowd.
Early-Morning Casa Milà Tour in English
The tour I would start with is the early-morning one, because it has the most reviews of any guided Casa Milà tour here: 4.8 stars from 282. It costs $40, takes about 1.5 hours and runs in English and Chinese. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours ahead. The house itself is named as the operator, so this is the house’s own product sold through a marketplace.
The listing says you go in as preparations are made to open the house to the public. The route lists the Warrior Rooftop, the Whale Attic and the Gaudí exhibition, the Tenants’ Apartment, the Flower Courtyard and the Butterfly Courtyard, and the listing promises access to areas not seen on regular guided tours. You meet at Passeig de Gràcia 92.

“Going in early before the crowds and getting to the rooftop was amazing” – GetYourGuide review
Reviewers agree on two things. They praise the guide, one calling the presentation that of a real storyteller who pointed out hidden features, and they like how quiet the house is. The complaints are small. One group found the tenants’ apartment overcrowded with people on self-guided visits, and another could not go up to the roof because of very hard rain. A French reviewer enjoyed the visit but regretted there is no French-speaking guide.
“Way better than walking with an audio guide.”

Casa Milà Tour in Japanese
The Japanese tour is the only Casa Milà tour I found that is built for one language other than English. It costs $37, lasts 1 hour and is run by The Touring Pandas. It meets at 8:30 in front of the entrance on the corner of Passeig de Gràcia and Carrer de Provença, where the guide holds a sign with the company logo.
The route starts with the façade, goes in through the Flower Courtyard to the attic and finishes on the rooftop with the chimneys and 360 degree views. The listing excludes the tenants’ apartment. It also says that if you are late you cannot join the tour or enter on your own, which is the strictest rule on this page.

The fast-track tour is operated by Julià Travel and costs $53 for 75 minutes, in English and Spanish. Admission, the local guide and a radio guide system are included. The guide waits with a Julià Travel sign or umbrella in front of the shop UNOde50 at Passeig de Gràcia 92.
Its route is the most complete on paper: the façade, the tenants’ flat furnished in period style, both courtyards, the Whale Attic with its catenary arches and the Warriors’ Rooftop. The reviews are the weak point. It has a 2.4 rating from 4 reviews, and the two written reviews are a wish for more history and a complaint in Polish that the paid guide did not appear. With so little data I cannot say whether that is normal, but I would pick the early-morning tour first at $13 less.

“Fabulous building. Would have been great to hear some historical information” – GetYourGuide review
The private tour is a different product. It costs $178, lasts about 2 hours and does not include admission, so you buy the entrance ticket separately. The guide is an official licensed guide who is a structural engineer, and the languages are English, Spanish, French and Italian. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours ahead.
The description reads the house as a system of forces and materials: why Gaudí removed the load-bearing interior walls, how the catenary arch works and what the rooftop’s geometry owes to inverted chain models. The guide uses hand-drawn diagrams and physical models and ends with questions on the roof. It has no reviews yet, so I cannot tell you how it plays out.

The ticket-only comparison is easy from the data. The audio-guide entry is $29 and has 4.7 stars from 29,923 reviews. The early-morning tour is $40, so the guide and the early start cost $11 more. For the extra money you get a smaller, quieter visit and the history told by a person. The fast-track tour is $24 more than the ticket and the Japanese tour is $8 more.
If you plan to see the roof and not much else, the plain ticket works. If you want the structure explained or you dislike crowds, the early-morning tour is the better value. The private tour is a different budget, $178 on top of an entry ticket.
Small Group, Private or Standard Casa Milà Tours
The listings state group size for only one tour, the Japanese early-access tour, at up to 25 people. The others do not say, so I cannot rank them by group size. What I can say is that the private tour is the only one that guarantees your own group, and the early-access tours are the only ones that go in before opening.
How I’d Choose a Casa Milà Tour
First visit with a guide: the early-morning tour at $40, for its 282 reviews and 4.8 rating.
Japanese speakers: the Japanese early-access tour at $37.
Spanish speakers: the fast-track tour at $53 is the only one that lists Spanish apart from the private tour.
Architecture fans: the private engineer-led tour at $178, with the ticket bought separately.
Cheapest way in: skip the tours and buy the $29 audio-guide entry.
Before you book, my Casa Milà opening hours guide gives the winter times and closing days, and the Casa Milà map shows what each route reaches. For the full range of entry options, see the list of Casa Milà tickets, and the home page covers the other attractions I compare.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Casa Milà tour worth it?+
I think so if you want the house explained by a person. The cheapest plain entry I found is $29 with an audio guide, and the guided early-morning tour is $40 with 4.8 stars from 282 reviews. One reviewer wrote that it was way better than walking with an audio guide. If you only want the rooftop views, the plain ticket is enough.
How long is a Casa Milà tour?+
The tours I compared run from 1 hour for the Japanese early-access tour to 1.5 hours for the English and Chinese early-morning tour, 75 minutes for the fast-track tour and about 2 hours for the private tour. These are the durations in the listings, and none of them includes time to queue.
Does a Casa Milà tour include entry?+
Three of the four do. The early-morning tour, the Japanese early-access tour and the fast-track tour all include admission. The private engineer-led tour lists the entrance ticket as not included, so you buy the ticket separately and match the slot to your guide.
Can I do a Casa Milà tour in the early morning?+
Yes. The $40 early-morning tour goes in as the house is prepared to open to the public, and the $37 Japanese tour meets at 8:30. The Japanese listing says you cannot join late or enter on your own, so arrive on time. A reviewer of the English tour could not reach the roof because of heavy rain.
Is there a Casa Milà tour in English?+
Yes. The early-morning tour runs in English and Chinese, the fast-track tour in English and Spanish, and the private tour in English, Spanish, French and Italian. A French reviewer regretted that the early-morning tour had no French-speaking guide.
Can I book a Casa Milà tour at the door?+
I would not plan on it. Every tour here is booked online with a fixed time and a meeting point outside the house, and the Japanese listing says late arrivals cannot join. Book before you travel, and check the house's own site for entry on your date.
