Sky Garden is a small place, so the question is not where the rooms are but how you move through three floors in the time your ticket gives you. This page gives you a Sky Garden map of the surroundings, the route I would take once you are inside, and a short note on each area. If you have not booked, my guide to tickets for the Sky Garden lists the options, including the paid bundles that add breakfast, a meal or a music night.
Sky Garden Map: Entrances, Stations and Sights Around It
The map below shows the Sky Garden with its entrance, the nearest stations and the sights close by, from Google Maps data.
The nearest station is Monument, about 220 m away by Google Maps coordinates, roughly 3 minutes on foot. Bank is about 440 m, around 7 minutes, and Tower Hill is about 490 m, around 8 minutes. Liverpool Street is about 690 m, or 11 minutes, and London Bridge about 780 m, or 13 minutes. The Tower of London is about 630 m away, around 10 minutes. These walking times are my estimates: straight-line distance multiplied by 1.3 at 4.8 km/h. The official site adds Fenchurch Street, Cannon Street and London Bridge rail stations and buses at stops T and W on route 40, per skygarden.london.
I looked for an official Sky Garden map to link and found none: the site offers the address and a directions link, and its list of venues, but no floor plan. A plan from a third party could be out of date, because venues and layouts change. What follows is my own reading order, built from the official venue list, Wikipedia and the paid listings.
The Sky Garden Map as a Route: What I Would Do Inside
This is how I would walk it. I leave the times blank on purpose, because the only timing in the sources is the length of the slot, and nothing says how long to spend at each stop.
My route inside the Sky Garden
1Entrance and securityYour ticket is checked at the door
2Lifts upTwo express lifts, per Wikipedia
3The gardenFerns and succulents on the slopes
4Viewing areasLook for the landmarks
5TerraceCheck the terrace hours
6Bar or restaurantOnly if you booked a table or bundle
Entrance and Security
The entrance is at the foot of 20 Fenchurch Street, and Google Maps also marks a point on Philpot Lane. The official FAQ, as I read it, asks anyone over 18 who looks under 25 to carry acceptable ID, and entry can be refused. Large bags, suitcases and tripods are not allowed. The list of prohibited items is an image on the FAQ page that I could not read as text, so check it before you pack. The listings that include The Larch say the restaurant is opposite the entrance, not inside the building, so those bundles start across the road.
The Lifts
The lifts are the only way up, and they are the weak point of any Sky Garden map right now, because they set how many people can be on the floors at once. The homepage, as I read it on 8 November 2026, says one visitor lift is out of service, capacity is reduced, and some ticket holders may be unable to enter at their booked time. It suggests rebooking for a later date if your visit is flexible. Arrive at your slot start rather than early, and expect a queue.
The Garden on the Sky Garden Map
Wikipedia says the garden occupies the top three floors of the building, which opened its garden in January 2015, per Wikipedia. The built garden has a sloped layout with ferns and succulents, not the glade of full-height trees that early visualisations showed. Set your expectations accordingly: the planting is a backdrop, and the view is the point. One thing the sources do not agree on is the floor numbers, since the article gives both the 36th to 38th and the 35th to 37th storeys, so I will not label levels.

“wonderful views in the morning one side of the building glass windows are foggy and dewy so it can be hard to see out sometimes” – GetYourGuide review
The listings name the Shard, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge among the sights you can pick out, and the homepage promises 360-degree views. Wikipedia gives the building as 160 m tall. Walk the full loop of the Sky Garden map first, then pick a window seat. The early access ticket exists because the garden is quieter at the start of the day, which is the case the product’s own listing makes.
The Terrace and the Sky Garden Map
The official site advertises a Hidden Belvedere Alpine Terrace on the top floor, with a sharing menu at 65 pounds per person from 16 November, in a partnership with Belvedere Vodka. That is a paid venue, not part of the free ticket. The official hours page I read lists the terrace at 10 am to 6 pm on weekdays and 11 am to 6 pm at weekends, but I could not confirm which terrace those hours apply to, so check the site for your date.
Bars and Restaurants
The official site names Darwin Brasserie, Fenchurch Restaurant, Sky Pod Bar and City Garden Bar. It says a Darwin Brasserie booking gives access to the garden even when standard tickets are sold out, which is the one workaround worth knowing. I cannot tell you which level each venue is on, because the official pages I read give no breakdown. The Sky Garden Music Night ticket includes standing access and a glass of champagne, with seating first come, first served.

Which Ticket Opens Which Part of the Sky Garden Map
The free public ticket, per the official FAQ page I read, is released on Mondays three weeks ahead and covers about an hour in the garden. The paid options on my list change what you do after you arrive, not where the Sky Garden map lets you go: the early access ticket adds a pastry and a hot drink and an earlier slot, the Larch bundles add breakfast or a two-course set meal across the road, and the music night adds a glass of fizz and standing access. If your main aim is the view, the free ticket opens the same garden as the paid ones, and the extras are for timing and food. I would only pay if the slot you want has sold out.
Access, Hours and Practical Notes
Ticketed public hours are Monday to Friday 10 am to 6 pm and weekends and bank holidays 11 am to 9 pm, per the official hours page, and my Sky Garden opening hours guide has the detail. The official site has an accessibility FAQ, but I could not read its answers, so ask the venue about step-free access before you go. Wikipedia reports that after the free hours end only paying customers of the catering venues can stay. Use the Sky Garden map above to pick your slot, then compare every Sky Garden ticket in one place before you pick a slot, and use the home page to find the other attractions I cover.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an official Sky Garden map?+
I could not find a floor plan or map of the inside on skygarden.london when I looked, so I have not linked one. The site gives the address, a Google Maps directions link and the names of the bars and restaurants, but no level-by-level plan.
Where is the Sky Garden entrance?+
The official address is 1 Sky Garden Walk, London EC3M 8AF, at the foot of 20 Fenchurch Street. Google Maps also marks a Sky Garden Entrance point on Philpot Lane, about 35 m from the main pin. You go through security before the lifts.
What is inside the Sky Garden?+
Wikipedia says it occupies the top three floors of the building and has a large viewing area, a terrace, a bar and two restaurants. The official site names Darwin Brasserie, Fenchurch Restaurant, Sky Pod Bar, City Garden Bar and a top-floor alpine terrace.
How long can you stay in the Sky Garden?+
Free public visits run in 60-minute slots, per Wikipedia, and I allow about an hour for the garden itself. A bundle that includes a meal, such as the Larch tickets, is listed at 2 hours.
Is the Sky Garden accessible?+
The official site has an accessibility page, but its answers were not in the text I could read, so I cannot confirm step-free routes. It also reports that one visitor lift is out of service, which has reduced capacity. Check before you travel.
