Civita Di Bagnoregio Tickets – Assisi, Civita di Bagnoregio and Orvieto Day Tour

The official Civita di Bagnoregio ticket costs 5 euros, and the cheapest day trip from Rome that includes it is the $134 Scoot Around Rome tour, which also has the best score: 5.0 stars from 44 reviews. The most reviewed is the $199 Amigo coach day to Assisi, Civita and Orvieto, with 4.7 from 116 reviews. Seven GetYourGuide products for Civita di Bagnoregio tickets are compared below, all starting in Rome. For one village, I’d book the $134 trip.

I compared every one of the Civita di Bagnoregio tickets and day trips I could find on GetYourGuide, and all seven are in the table above. Be clear about what you are buying: nobody sells a gate-only product here, because the village is about 120 km north of Rome, according to Wikipedia. The tickets for Civita di Bagnoregio that you book online are therefore transport, a guide or driver, and sometimes the entrance fee, bundled together. Prices are in US dollars, taken from the listings in November 2026. The booking buttons are affiliate links, explained on my about page.

Civita di Bagnoregio Tickets at a Glance

Here are the Civita di Bagnoregio tickets in one table, so you can see what the money buys before the detail.

What Details
Official access ticket 5 euros per person, sold online, at the ticket offices and in the village app (per the official ticket page)
Ticket types on GetYourGuide 1 shared-group trip with the entry ticket, 1 shared coach tour, 5 private day trips with a driver or guide
Price range $134 (Scoot Around Rome) to $1,398 (Beijing Taoxi, Lake Bolsena)
Areas by type Civita di Bagnoregio only on one private tour; with Orvieto on three; with Villa Lante on two; with Assisi and Orvieto on the coach day; with Lake Bolsena on one
Transport from Rome Included in all seven: coach, van or car
Time to allow 6 hours (private tour) to 14 hours (coach day to three towns)
Entry fee included Five of seven list or imply it; the Amigo coach, the Dream Tour and the Shore Excursions trips do not
Address No Google Maps listing for the village in my data; Wikipedia places it about 1 km east of Bagnoregio
Hours The official pages I read give no opening hours for the village; only the ticket desk line is staffed 8:00 to 20:00

What separates these Civita di Bagnoregio tickets is the second stop, and the Civita di Bagnoregio tickets with an entry fee included save a step. The village itself takes roughly two to three hours, one listing says, so every product adds a town or a garden to fill the day: Orvieto, Villa Lante, Assisi or Lake Bolsena.

Civita di Bagnoregio Tickets and Prices

The Civita di Bagnoregio tickets and prices I’d start from for a classic three-town day is the Amigo Tours Spain coach trip at $199. It lasts 14 hours, runs in English and Spanish, and scores 4.7 from 116 reviews, the most reviewed of the seven. The itinerary goes Assisi first, then Orvieto, then Civita di Bagnoregio at the end of the day. A luxury coach and a tour leader are included, with free time in each town. You meet at Piazzale della Stazione Tiburtina, under the “Roma Tiburtina” sign by the bus stop, and the listing asks you to arrive 10 minutes before departure.

“This was a very full day, but well worth it to see three cities. We had a friendly group, and our guide, Tiziano, was wonderful.” – GetYourGuide review

Read what is not in the price of these Civita di Bagnoregio tickets. The listing says entrance fees to attractions are not included unless stated, and it also lists a guided tour as not included, so the tour leader is a host rather than someone narrating every site. The official 5 euro access fee is therefore a cost on top, so plan to pay it. Reviewers are warm about the guides and the architecture. Two of them were turned away from the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi because of huge crowds on their day, and a third calls the trip a very full day that was well worth it.

This was a very full day, but well worth it to see three cities.

Skip-the-Line Civita di Bagnoregio Tickets

Skip-the-line Civita di Bagnoregio tickets do not exist as a separate product, and the village’s own page describes plain ticket offices and an app rather than a priority lane. What a private trip does is remove the queue logic from your day: a driver collects you, drops you at the car park by the bridge and waits. The closest match in my data is the Shore Excursions in Italy private tour at $880, 8 hours, rated 5.0 from 8 reviews. It picks you up in Rome or at the Civitavecchia cruise port at 8 am and returns around 5 pm.

“Great day trip, unique experience. Driver was friendly.” – GetYourGuide review

The listing explains the walk: expect 7 to 8 minutes across the pedestrian bridge before you reach the village, and it quotes 5 euros each to enter. Then Orvieto, with its Gothic cathedral at an extra 5 euros and the underground Etruscan city at 8 euros, both quoted by the operator. Fuel, tolls, parking and VAT are inside the price. Do not expect a guide inside the monuments: the listing promises main historical information and tips from the driver. Reviewers say the driver was friendly, on time, and that the trip felt away from the crowds.

How Much Are Civita di Bagnoregio Tickets

How much are Civita di Bagnoregio tickets in practice? Two numbers matter. The access ticket is 5 euros per person, the same rate every day according to the village’s ticket page, though older sources say otherwise: Wikipedia describes a 3 euro weekday and 5 euro Sunday toll from 2017, so trust the official page for 2026. The second number is the day trip, and the one card here is the Dream Tour in Italy private day at $312. It lasts 9 hours, runs in English, and has hotel pickup in Rome, Civita di Bagnoregio, the Duomo of Orvieto and the Pozzo di San Patrizio.

The listing says plainly that the 5 euro Civita ticket and a 6 euro ticket for the Pozzo di San Patrizio are not included. St Patrick’s Well, a 16th-century well with a double spiral staircase of 248 steps, is the extra highlight. With no rating or review in my data, I’d treat this as a promising price, not a proven one.

Can You Buy Civita di Bagnoregio Tickets at the Bridge

You can buy Civita di Bagnoregio tickets at the bridge only on quiet days, and on busy days you buy them in the car park first. The official ticket page says the Piazzale Battaglini office is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and the Mercatello office near the bridge is open on low-traffic days. If the Piazzale Battaglini box office is shut on a quiet day, Mercatello is the only desk. Visitors without a ticket are told to go to Piazzale Battaglini, from where it is a 15-minute walk or a shuttle to the Belvedere. Paying in the free app is the third route, and the official site describes the online ticket page as the first.

A group trip takes that detail off your plate, which is why I like group Civita di Bagnoregio tickets for first visits. The Scoot Around Rome day trip at $134 lists an entry ticket to Civita di Bagnoregio as included, plus round-trip transport and Wi-Fi onboard. It lasts 7.5 hours, runs in English, French, Spanish and Italian, and scores 5.0 from 44 reviews, the best rating of any trip with a real sample. You meet at the Cinecitta metro station exit on line A at 9 am, and groups of 3 to 4 can ask for hotel pickup. The villa’s own entry is not included, per the listing.

“Great experience and wonderful trip, the guide - Simone is the nicest person we met in Rome.” – GetYourGuide review

The format is two stops. Villa Lante, a Renaissance garden, comes first after about 1 hour 40 minutes of driving, and the listing suggests 1.5 to 2 hours there. Then roughly 20 minutes on to Civita for a visit of 2 to 3 hours, with an optional lunch. Reviewers praise the guide, a named local, and one says they were not rushed anywhere. Another reviewer’s garden was closed for repairs, so the day was reshaped with a quick change that still worked, which tells me the operator improvises well.

great guide loaded with great information. had plenty of time not rushed anywhere.

What Do Visitors Say About Civita di Bagnoregio

Visitor opinion splits by trip style, and the clearest signal is the private Rome Italy Explora tour at $642. It lasts 6 hours, is dedicated to Civita di Bagnoregio alone, and has a private chauffeur and a tour leader whose language you choose at checkout from five. The entrance tickets to Civita are included, with free time in the village. It is the only listing built around the village on its own, and it has one review: five stars from a traveller who called the tour leader knowledgeable and warm and the driver professional.

Treat one review as a signal, not a score, whichever of the Civita di Bagnoregio tickets you choose. Across the other trips, the recurring praise is for guides and the scenery, and the recurring complaints are about time: crowds in Assisi, a full day on the coach, and a garden closed for repairs. Nobody in the reviews I read complained about the village itself. Wikipedia explains the appeal. The village sits on a tuff plateau and is known as “the city that dies” because erosion keeps isolating it, and its only access is a footbridge built in 1965.

Civita di Bagnoregio Tickets Online

Civita di Bagnoregio tickets online come from two sources, and they are different things. The official route for tickets for Civita di Bagnoregio is the village’s own online ticket page, which sends you to a ticketing shop for the 5 euro access ticket, and the free app is a second route. That ticket gets you in, and nothing else. On GetYourGuide, the booking buttons on this page sell a trip from Rome. The difference matters for planning: if you already have a car, buy the 5 euro ticket from the village, and if you do not, one of the day trips is the simpler plan.

I could not open the ticketing shop itself, so I cannot show you its calendar or time slots, and the official ticket page I did read mentions no timed entry. Check the official ticket page before you pay. It also lists who gets in free, among them children under 6, residents, and licensed guides leading a group. Guests of B&Bs inside the village are also exempt, and students and teachers of the Bagnoregio schools.

Civita di Bagnoregio Italy Tickets

The Civita di Bagnoregio Italy tickets with the longest day are the Beijing Taoxi trip at $1,398, which pairs the village with Lake Bolsena. It lasts 10 hours, runs in Chinese, English and Japanese, and includes hotel pickup and drop-off in Rome, a guided tour of the village, a visit to the lake and historical explanations. The description has you cross the suspended bridge, pass the Porta Santa Maria and see the Church of San Donato, then drive to the lake town and its Castello Monaldeschi.

  • ✕ Authentic Lazio regional lunch

Lunch is the ambiguity with these Civita di Bagnoregio tickets. The description mentions a wild boar ragu lunch inside the village, yet the not-included list names an authentic Lazio regional lunch, so ask the operator before you pay whether lunch is covered. The listing does not say whether the price is per person or for the group, and the entry ticket is not clearly listed, so confirm that too. The text says the village was abandoned gradually after an earthquake and centuries of erosion, and that only a dozen people live there now, which agrees with Wikipedia’s estimate of 11 residents.

Civita di Bagnoregio Tickets in 2026

Civita di Bagnoregio tickets in 2026 are the same 5 euro rate on the official page, and the trip I’d flag for the year is the wine day from TourUpinEurope at $880. It lasts 10 hours, comes with a private guide and driver, and lists all entry tickets in the price, which is the one private listing that clearly covers the village fee. Villa Lante’s Renaissance gardens come first, then a boutique winery for a tasting of Est! Est!! Est!!! white and Aleatico red with local cheeses and truffle bites, then a 30-minute drive to the village and San Donato church.

A word on the year: I found no 2026 price change on the official pages, and no closure notice, but I could not read the ticketing shop. Villa Lante’s gardens, one reviewer of another trip noted, can close for repairs, so ask the operator what happens on the day. Language choice is the real strength of these Civita di Bagnoregio tickets: the listing offers Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

Is Civita di Bagnoregio in Tuscany

Civita di Bagnoregio is not in Tuscany. Wikipedia places the village in the comune of Bagnoregio, Province of Viterbo, in the Lazio region, on a plateau at 443 m above the Tiber valley, east of Lake Bolsena. Its neighbours make the confusion easy: the day trips pair it with Orvieto, which is in Umbria, and one coach tour adds Assisi, also Umbria. For the village itself you are staying in Lazio, about 120 km north of Rome, and coming from the north on the A1 motorway you leave at Orvieto, 18 km and about 25 minutes away, per the official how to arrive page.

Is Civita Worth Visiting

Whether Civita is worth visiting depends on what you expect, since there are no big museums and no queues for an interior. What you get is a medieval village on a crumbling tuff hill, reached by a footbridge, with about a dozen permanent residents per Wikipedia and an estimated 850,000 visitors in 2017. The Etruscans founded it more than 2,500 years ago, and erosion of the clay under the rock has been isolating it ever since. Reviewers describe an unhurried visit of two to three hours, and the Scoot Around Rome reviewers rate it 5.0 from 44 reviews.

I’d say Civita di Bagnoregio tickets are worth the day when you combine it with a second stop, such as Orvieto, and not worth a long drive for the village alone if you dislike crowds in high season. That is also why the cheaper trips are two-stop days.

Opening Hours and Getting There

An hours question comes up often with Civita di Bagnoregio tickets. The Civita di Bagnoregio tickets above handle the driving, and my Civita di Bagnoregio opening hours and visitor guide covers the rest: the 15-minute walk from Piazzale Battaglini, the parking rules, the bus from Orvieto, the best month by weather and what to check before you go. The official pages I read give no village opening hours, so check the ticket page for your date.

Near Civita di Bagnoregio

Google Maps holds no place within walking distance of the village in my data. Everything I have is in Rome, 120 km away by Wikipedia’s figure and about 1.5 hours by road according to the private Orvieto listing, so these are not neighbours. They are the Rome sights people combine with the trip on a different day, because a Civita day takes most of one. The Colosseum and the Vatican Museums are the two I compare on this site, and for the other garden-and-hill-town day trip from Rome, my Villa d’Este tickets page covers Tivoli. Orvieto, Assisi and Lake Bolsena are not in my Maps data, so I give no distances for them.

How I’d Choose

Frequently asked questions

How much are Civita di Bagnoregio tickets?

The official access ticket is 5 euros per person, according to the village's own ticket page, with no separate weekday or reduced rate listed. The GetYourGuide day trips from Rome that I compared start at $134 and run to $1,398, and they add transport and often a guide, which the 5 euros does not.

Do I need a ticket to enter Civita di Bagnoregio?

Yes. The official ticket information page sells a 5 euro ticket online, at the Piazzale Battaglini office on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, at the Mercatello office by the bridge on quieter days, or through the free app. Free entry is limited to groups such as children under 6, residents and licensed guides leading a group.

Are Civita di Bagnoregio tickets included in the day trips from Rome?

It depends on the listing. The $134 Scoot Around Rome trip and the $642 private tour list the Civita ticket as included, and the $880 wine tour lists all entry tickets. The $199 Amigo coach tour and the $312 and $880 private Orvieto trips do not include the entrance fee, so budget the 5 euros.

How far is Civita di Bagnoregio from Rome?

Wikipedia puts the village about 120 km north of Rome. The private Orvieto listing says it is about 1.5 hours from Rome by car, and the Villa Lante listing quotes 1 hour 40 minutes of driving to its first stop. By public transport, the official page says to take a train to Orvieto or Viterbo, then a COTRAL bus to Bagnoregio.

Is Civita di Bagnoregio in Tuscany?

No. Wikipedia places it in the Province of Viterbo in the Lazio region, on a plateau of volcanic tuff about 1 km from the town of Bagnoregio. It sits close to the borders with Umbria and Tuscany, and several tours pair it with Orvieto, which is in Umbria, but the village itself is in Lazio.

Is Civita di Bagnoregio worth visiting?

Wikipedia gives an estimated 850,000 visitors in 2017 for a village with about a dozen residents. The best-reviewed trip I compared, Scoot Around Rome, scores 5.0 from 44 reviews, and its reviewers praise the guide and the unhurried pace. Allow 2 to 3 hours in the village.

Can I buy Civita di Bagnoregio tickets online?

Yes. The official site sends you to an online ticket page, and the village also runs a free app in Italian and English where you can pay. The ticket office phone line, +39 3248660940, is staffed from 8:00 to 20:00 every day according to the official page.
