Montjuic tickets are cheap to start with, because the hill itself is free to walk. The cheapest of the Montjuic tickets I compared is the $21 cable car round trip, which is also the most reviewed at 4.5 stars from 25,285 reviews. The official Telefèric de Montjuïc site sells its own round trip at 17.10 euros for adults. For a first visit I’d book that cable car, and add the $60 walking tour if you want a guide and the castle.
I compared the ten Montjuïc tickets and tours that GetYourGuide sells today: two cable car tickets, a walking tour that includes the castle, three guided walks, two e-bike tours, a private tour and a family version. Prices are in US dollars, come from the listings and were checked in November 2026. My GetYourGuide buttons are affiliate links, and my about page explains what that means. No ticket on this page is a plain castle admission, and I say so wherever it matters.
Montjuic Tickets at a Glance
Montjuïc is a hill in southwest Barcelona overlooking the harbour, and Wikipedia puts its top at about 185 metres. The table shows what is free and what you can buy.

Rating
4.7 from 5,924 reviews for the hill, per Google Maps
The point to hold on to is that Montjuic tickets come in three kinds: a ride (the cable car), a guided walk or ride, and a building entry that you buy elsewhere. Only one product on this page is a plain ticket you scan, and every other Montjuic ticket adds a guide.
What Is Free and What Is Paid on Montjuic
Walking up through the gardens, which needs no ticket for Montjuic, standing at the viewpoints and wandering the Olympic area cost nothing. The Magic Fountain show is free to watch as far as I found, and the Magic Fountain tickets page covers its schedule and the two tours that include it. The things that cost money are the cable car, the castle, the museums and the guides, so every ticket for Montjuic falls into one of those four.
Per Wikipedia, the hill holds the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in the Palau Nacional, the Fundació Joan Miró, the Poble Espanyol village on the western side and the Olympic Museum, plus a cemetery and botanical gardens. I tried the official museum sites for hours and prices, but none of them loaded for me, so I won’t quote museum prices. Check MNAC, the Fundació Joan Miró and Poble Espanyol before you go. None of the Montjuic tickets I compared covers museum entry, and a ticket for Montjuic never replaces a museum ticket; several listings say so in their exclusions.
Montjuic Tickets and Prices
Here are the plain Montjuic tickets and prices. The standout is the Turisme de Barcelona cable car round trip at $21. It is the plainest of the Montjuic tickets, a ticket and not a tour: the voucher is exchanged for the round trip at the lower station on Avinguda Miramar, the ticket is valid for 24 hours and it does not include entry to the castle. Reviewers rate it 4.5 from 25,285 reviews, and reviewers describe the views and the castle at the top as the payoff. One said the operator let their group use the ticket on a different day later in the week, which fits the listing’s free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
The official site shows the same ride at 17.10 euros for an adult, and says children from 4 to 12 pay 11.70 euros and under-4s ride free, per the Telefèric de Montjuïc page. I’d compare the day’s exchange rate with the $21 before choosing between these Montjuic tickets, because the official 10 percent online discount may make the direct route cheaper. The reseller advantage is the free cancellation window, which is why I still list this Montjuic ticket first.

“what a great trip. wonderful view of the city and the castle on the top was fun to walk through.” – GetYourGuide review
At the other end of the price list of Montjuic tickets is the $66 e-bike tour with tapas by Guru Child, 3.5 hours with a guide, a helmet, one tapa and one drink, and a route that climbs to Montjuïc, passes the Olympic area and the Greek Garden and rolls on to Barceloneta and Port Olímpic. It has no rating yet, so I cannot say how it performs. The guide speaks Spanish only according to the listing, which matters for most visitors. Museum entry and full meals are not included.

Skip-the-Line Montjuic Tickets
Skip-the-line is a loose phrase for Montjuic tickets. The cable car and castle are not timed-entry attractions in the sense of a cathedral with a security queue, and I found no official page promising a fast lane. What the $60 In Out Barcelona Tours walking tour does give you is a package of Montjuic tickets in one: it includes the visit to the castle, a round trip on the cable car and a round trip on the Montjuïc funicular, so you do not queue at three ticket points yourself. The listing calls the castle visit exclusive and the group is capped at 15 people.
The tour lasts 3.5 hours in English or Spanish and starts at the Palau Moja reception on Carrer de la Portaferrissa, in the old town, not on the hill. It walks La Boqueria, El Raval, the Liceu theatre and Palau Güell before heading up. It is rated 4.7 from 1,118 reviews, the best-reviewed guided option I found. Gratuities, food and drinks are not included.

Montjuic Fountain Tickets
People who search for Montjuic fountain tickets are usually looking at the Magic Fountain, and the show needs no ticket for Montjuic as far as I found: the city pages describe it without a price. Its winter timetable and the two tours that include it are on my Magic Fountain tickets page, so book the fountain there, not here.
The closest match on this page is the $38 City Tours on Bike-eBike-Segway tour. It lasts 2.5 hours and rides to the Montjuïc viewpoints, but the itinerary in the listing runs from Parc de la Ciutadella through Port Vell and the Columbus Monument to the castle, the Olympic Stadium and the MNAC, and does not name the fountain as a stop. It is rated 4.7 from 478 reviews. It includes the electric bike, a helmet on request, child seats and a free extra hour of e-bike rental after the tour, and it is led in a small group. Food, tips and hotel pickup are not included.

“Had a wonderful e-bike ride with lots of information and nice pace as we rode trough Barcelona and learned the bike lanes and rules of the road!” – GetYourGuide review
The cable car is the one paid ride on the hill, so its price deserves a line of its own among the Montjuic tickets. On the official site, a round trip costs 17.10 euros for an adult against a list price of 19.00, children from 4 to 12 pay 11.70 euros, and children under 4 are free. One-way tickets cost 12 euros for adults and 10 euros for children and are sold only at the ticket office.
On GetYourGuide, the plain Montjuic cable car ticket is the $21 round trip above. The second cable car product is the $28 Clio Muse ticket, which adds a self-guided audio tour of the cable car and a self-guided audio walk of Barcelona that starts in Plaça Sant Jaume. It is a ticket with an app, with no live guide, and you need your own phone and headphones. It is rated 4.0 from 377 reviews, lower than the plain ticket, and this card is a leftover in the allocation rather than the best match for any section. I’d choose this Montjuic ticket only if you like audio guides. Otherwise the $21 ticket is the better value.

“Great, I walked loads and got lost a few times but it had the most beautiful scenery!” – GetYourGuide review
Booking Montjuic tickets online is simple, and a Montjuic ticket bought direct is easy too, since the official cable car site sells them through Hola Barcelona, with a 10 percent online discount, a wallet-ready app ticket and a ticket office for one-way fares. The payment methods it lists include Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bizum and the main cards. A strike warning on the page said service might be affected on a day in October, so check the notice before travelling, since it may be out of date.
For the tours, the buttons on this page are the quickest way to buy Montjuic tickets and all ten products offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before. If you want a castle ticket for Montjuic only, I could not confirm the official booking route, because the barcelona.cat castle page did not load, so use the castle site listed on Google Maps and read the price there. For museums, go straight to their own sites, because Montjuic tickets here never include them.
Is Montjuic Castle Worth the Ticket
I think a Montjuic castle ticket is worth it, if you like views and fortresses. The castle sits at the top of the hill, Google Maps rates it 4.4 from 62,432 reviews and shows it open 10 am to 6 pm every day. Wikipedia describes it as a largely 17th century fortress, once used as a prison and execution site. I could not read the official admission price, and a search snippet from a travel guide listed 5 euros that I could not verify, so treat any castle price as unconfirmed.
If you want a different slice of the same hill, the Nostos Tours cemetery walk is the card I am attaching here, and it is not a castle tour. It covers the Montjuïc Cemetery, with stops at the Portal de Santa Madrona, the Fossar de la Pedrera and the tombs of Buenaventura Durruti and Joan Miró. The $43 price includes the city bus to the cemetery, lasts 2.5 hours and is led in English. It is rated 4.9 from 49 reviews, which makes it the best-rated of the cheaper Montjuic tickets. The wooden gate of the old city wall at Avinguda del Paral·lel is the meeting point, so you do not ride up the hill with the cable car.

“This has been on my list for a long time and it did not disappoint…Onno did a great job, he was very likable, engaging, and informative. I continue to recommend this tour to my friends who live here and have not yet gone.” – GetYourGuide review
Yes, and the numbers back it, even before you buy any Montjuic tickets: Google Maps shows 4.7 stars from 5,924 reviews for the hill, and a viewpoint, the Mirador de Montjuic, at 4.7 from 1,804. The hill hosted the 1929 International Exposition and the 1992 Olympic Games, per Wikipedia, so you are walking past stadiums, gardens, a fountain and museums on the same slopes. It rewards a half day more than a quick stop, and the right Montjuic tickets make that half day easier.
Of all the Montjuic tickets, the $30 MYSTICXPERIENCE walk with a glass of wine is the lightest way to see it with a guide. It starts at the Teatro Apolo on Avinguda del Paral·lel, rides the funicular, then goes through the Joan Brossa gardens to the Mirador del Alcalde, the castle exterior, the Greek Theatre, the Olympic Ring and the MNAC. Is the Cable Car, Castle and Sea Combo Worth It
The De La Rosa Expereiences combo is the most expensive option I found, at $79 for 3 hours, and it is the only one that adds a water bus ride along the coastline. It includes a guided walk of Montjuïc, a cable car ride, a tour of the Olympic Ring area, a water bus ticket and pictures of the tour. It meets at the Venetian Towers on Plaça d’Espanya, in English or Spanish. The rating is 4.3, from only 33 reviews, so it is promising but not proven.
Is this Montjuic ticket worth $79? Compared with the $60 In Out tour, you pay $19 more and swap the old-town walk and castle visit for a boat ride, and the listing has no exclusions at all. I’d book this Montjuic ticket for a visitor who wants the sea in the same morning. If the castle interior is the aim, the $60 tour includes it and this one only lists a tour of the mountain’s main sights.

“I really liked my guide Diego. It was such a nice visit and we learn a lot about the story of Barcelona.” – GetYourGuide review
This is the private one of the Montjuic tickets, and it costs $39 for 2 hours, and the price is the guide only. The listing starts at the Magic Fountain, passes the German Pavilion and the MNAC from outside, strolls the Olympic Ring, passes the Fundació Joan Miró and ends near the Mayor’s lookout and the Hotel Miramar viewpoint. Descent is by cable car, bus, taxi or on foot.
The detail that matters: tickets are not included. The cable car costs 12 euros per guest and 12 euros for the guide’s ticket per booking, according to the listing, children from 4 to 12 pay 10 euros, and castle, MNAC and Fundació Joan Miró entries are not included. A family of four should add the cable car on top of the $39. It is rated 4.8 from 18 reviews in Spanish, English and Catalan. For a private guide at this price I’d call it good value, as long as you budget for the extras.

The route takes in the castle, the Tobogans de Montjuïc, the Mirador del Alcalde, the Plaça de la Sardana, the Joan Brossa gardens and the municipal pools.
Be careful with the price of this Montjuic ticket: cable car tickets for guests and the guide are bought at the station and are not included, nor is castle entry, and one reviewer’s note was a reminder that the cable car prices are not included. Near Montjuic
Distances run from the castle pin on Google Maps, and the walking times are my estimates: straight-line distance multiplied by 1.3, at 4.8 km per hour. The Mirador de Montjuic is about 0.19 km away, roughly 3 minutes, and the Montjuïc Lighthouse 0.23 km, about 4 minutes. The cable car pin on Avinguda Miramar is 0.65 km, about 11 minutes. The Columbus monument at the harbour is 1.78 km, around 29 minutes. The Magic Fountain, which sits near the foot of the hill, is roughly 1.5 km away, about 24 minutes by my estimate using the meeting-point coordinates from a tour listing. Compare it on my Magic Fountain tickets page. For the headline Gaudí sights, see the Sagrada Familia tickets, Park Güell tickets and Casa Batlló tickets pages, which are across town.

Not for the hill itself. Montjuïc is a public hill with parks, viewpoints and paths, and I found no gate or entry fee for it. What costs money are the things on it: the cable car, the castle, the museums and the guided tours. The ten GetYourGuide products I compared start at $21 for the cable car round trip.
How much is admission to Montjuic Castle?+
I could not read the official price. The castle page on barcelona.cat was not reachable when I checked, and one Google search snippet from a travel guide listed 5 euros, which I could not confirm. Google Maps shows the castle open 10 am to 6 pm every day. The tours I compared that include the castle start at $60, and the cable car ticket itself does not include castle entry.
How much is the Montjuic cable car?+
The official Telefèric de Montjuïc site shows a round trip for an adult at 17.10 euros against a list price of 19.00, with children aged 4 to 12 at 11.70 euros and under-4s free. One-way tickets are 12 euros for adults and sold only at the ticket office. On GetYourGuide the round trip is $21 from Turisme de Barcelona, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
What are the main attractions in Montjuic?+
Per Wikipedia, the hill holds the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya in the Palau Nacional, the Fundació Joan Miró, the Poble Espanyol village, Montjuïc Castle, the Magic Fountain, the Olympic stadium and the cemetery. Gardens, viewpoints and the cable car are the other big draws.
Is it worth it to go inside Montjuic Castle?+
I think the views justify a visit, since the castle stands on the top of the hill and Google Maps rates it 4.4 from 62,432 reviews. The fortress is largely 17th century and was a prison, per Wikipedia. If you only want the view, the cable car and the free Mirador de l'Alcalde cover much of it, so the castle ticket is for people who want the walls and the history.
Can I buy Montjuic tickets online?+
Yes. The cable car sells online through Hola Barcelona, which the official page says gives a 10 percent online discount, and you can also buy at the ticket office. The tours I compared are booked online through the GetYourGuide buttons on this page, all with free cancellation up to 24 hours before except where the card says otherwise.
Is the Magic Fountain free to watch?+
As far as I could find, yes: the city pages describe the show without a price. It is a separate attraction at the foot of Montjuïc, and I keep it on my Magic Fountain tickets page, which also lists the two tours that include it.
Which Montjuic ticket is best for a first visit?+
For a first visit I'd start with the $21 cable car round trip if you want views and the hill by yourself, and the $60 walking tour if you want a guide, the castle and the cable car together. The walking tour is rated 4.7 from 1,118 reviews, and the cable car ticket 4.5 from 25,285.
